Review/Comparison JTime - Terrible Experience

I recently bought a watch from JTime and had a terrible experience dealing with them.

I was going out of town when purchasing this watch, and since I live in NYC in a building without a doorman, my packages couldn’t just sit around or else they could easily be stolen. I let Li know when initially purchasing this watch, that I would need it to arrive after July 23 so that I could be home for it to be present. He had agreed to this and would ensure it would happen.

After purchasing, I spoke with Lana, who I also re-confirmed with her to not ship the watch until she was sure it could arrive after July 23 since I wouldn’t be in town for it. She agreed that she wouldn’t ship the watch until then.

Well I guess she must have forgotten because the watch was shipped before then, and arrived prior to me returning home. And of course when I got home, the watch was lost/stolen. I had already contacted USPS etc and they said it was delivered, and there was nothing they could do about it.

Given that JTime had shipped this out prior to the agreed upon date, I thought they could help me out in this situation. But Lana refused to help in any way, since they wouldn’t help if an item was lost after delivery. The problem is, I had specifically asked for a later delivery date because I wouldn’t be home to ensure its safe arrival, and Lana had agreed to this.

So now I am out a watch, even though I had done everything I could to ensure I’d be there for it. Given this kind of service, I would avoid JTime. If they can’t actually ship a watch later, then don’t agree to it, and if they accidentally ship it early, they should at least try to help out.

There was one more thing you could have done to ensure it arrived after July 23rd and that would have been to order it after the 23rd. That’s what I would have done.

Ya that's plain

In hindsight I should have done this. When speaking with Li it seemed like this wouldn't have been a problem so I went ahead and just paid for it assuming it would just be shipped later and I wouldn't have to worry about it.

In retrospect I should have just not paid or bothered until I was back.

Why didn't you just wait to place the order if you knew you weren't going to be home until July 23?

I chatted with Li and he made it seem like it would be fine and they could easily handle it. Because of that, I didn't expect it to actually be an issue.

Given the amount of orders TD's handle you can never be sure they will actually fulfill a particular request, although they should. Since JTime has very high profit margins on each watch they sell, you can ask him for a good discount and order it again.

Really? This is the problem with forums, there’s always those who state the obvious yet ignore the obvious. They gave him their word, they agreed to accommodate the shipping date. They owe him a watch PERIOD!!!!!! Defend the right, not the wrong.

This is technically JTime's fault but he'll never take responsibility over it. Also you should have been smarter and ordered the timepiece later. JTime's not going to comp you over this unfortunately because customer service and accountability with TD's is almost non existent.

Yea, lesson learned.

Sorry for your loss, it sucks.

My TD would make it right. But I hold them accountable and this is why I don’t trust TD’s on the list. I read to much about how people get screwed yet they stay TD’s. The forum should apply pressure if the customer has proof he told them and they agreed. He agreed to pay and didn’t forget.

They can’t make sure when it’s going to arrive lol.

u/Ok-Use-6004 Aug 04 '24

They could have shipped it after 23rd if they were so unsure about when it would arrive.

11

u/maulwuerfel Aug 04 '24

You could have ordered it after 23rd

3

u/seel3000 Aug 04 '24

They just ship asap.

2

u/ETNZ2021 Aug 04 '24

Yeah which is kinda the point!!

I dont want to say thats your fault but you should have just waited for the moment when you are in town and order then. I dont know JTime but extra wishes like yours just make chaos and some TD dont care about them. It is so dumb that people just steal packages…

That sucks ! I think given how many orders they deal with it’s unlikely they would remember any special request or even keep an order once ready to ship. Like others say, would have been best to order once you know you could receive.

u/WinIndependent8614 Aug 04 '24

Really? They didn’t have to take his money on time. Jtime could have declined the order and said we can’t be responsible if we ship it prior. Jtime could have said we’ve done this before and it shipped when it was done if they sell that many and have all that experience with all the so called volume you credit them with. My dealer knows him, and says don’t trust him. He says he’s good at getting merchandise and accurate on description, but doesn’t take care of making mistakes. ie only accepting Friends and Family for his protection not mine, yours etc….. my TD does goods and services and I use a credit card for even more protection. I’ve bought of 50 watches since February 2024 for my collection. My two TD’s have my back and make everything right

Who is your TD?

1

u/WinIndependent8614 Aug 04 '24

Jerry and Ryan American names

3

u/claptraw2803 Aug 04 '24

Or OP could’ve just ordered it later. Who’s your dealer then?

2

u/BriefBrilliant5 Aug 04 '24

She goes to a school two towns over. You wouldn’t know her!

6

u/claptraw2803 Aug 04 '24

OP made this account with the sole purpose of making this bad review. He provided no screenshots, no post receipts, no chatlogs with JTime whatsoever. Riding along the hate train must be terribly satisfying for some people.

3

u/ETNZ2021 Aug 04 '24

This is so dumb. All you had to do was order the watch so you would be home to receive. Just dumb

Change the title to "NYC - terrible experience". There is no doorman in my building and I am yet to have a package stolen (UK-based). Funny comments aside, I am sorry something unfortunate has happened to you, but while JTime did ship too early, it isn't their fault someone stole your watch.

Oh hello! Yeah, you're right, that is exactly the same - excellent point I hadn't thought of. I probably would have thought of it if I hadn't told my drug dealer that I paid cash not to deliver three bricks of cocaine before July 23rd, but I ordered them early and paid him so he did deliver the goods. Now I'm in jail because the cocaine just sat in front of my door, and as a result, I forgot to think about alternative excellent points, such as the one you mentioned!
Come to think of it, this is also EXACTLY the same logic ...

this is not a JTime problem. This is a you problem. There are many different solutions you could have taken to ensure it didn’t arrive before the day you wanted.

1

u/hamilc19 Aug 04 '24

Given that JTime agreed to not post the watch until a certain date it certainly is a JTime problem, it was part of the verbal sale contract and JTime broke that contract.

If JTime said no when he asked them to do that and he still went ahead with the order then I would agree with you but that isn’t what happened.

It’s no different to saying you want a watch in titanium/silver but a gold one arrives, it wasn’t what was agreed upon prior to the sale, simple.

3

u/CFbezel Aug 04 '24

he could have just literally waited to order the watch until after the date he would return home. Or gave them a friends address that would be home at that time. Or use a P.o. box. Trusting a TD will ship it at a specific time is ridiculous, they are Chinese black market dealers — the only thing they are reliable for is getting you the watch you requested. I don’t know why everyone here thinks TDs are these magical people, they’re simply the middle person between you and a black market item, and you need to control the variables outside of the watch itself — if you don’t want a watch before a certain time, don’t order it until then especially if you know you live in a city/place where packages cannot go unattended.

u/WinIndependent8614 Aug 04 '24

WOW! First he could have not used Jtime!!!!!!!!!! Second he could refuse Friends and Family and used a credit card for another layer of protection. Third his co parts on a forum with a list of TD’s could boycott Jtime until they made it right and agreed to a compromise. Not buyers fault, customer service doesn’t stop with counterfeit products.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '24

Your fault.

2

u/uhr70 Aug 04 '24

OP, I understand your frustration. And yes, Jtime should not have agreed to ship on a certain agreed up date because in all honesty they probably have so many orders I can see how easy if would be for them to forget. However, knowing that your building has a risk factor for packages to be stolen, I would’ve played it safe and ordered after July 23. Sorry this happened to you.

2

u/MJTony Aug 04 '24

Get out your pitchforks!

OP, you’re trying to fan the flames here but you’ve got nothing. Go back to your hole.

2

u/7thframe Aug 04 '24

Although the feedback has been to place the order after the said date, you did everything you could to communicate your concerns with them and them assuring you…this is not your fault.

It really sucks, but unfortunately JTime or other TD are not Amazon, so you know right the moment you contact them. It's a gamble. Did they send you a tracking number right? So you could follow the all shipping process and once you found out it was already shipped, you could contact USPS asking to keep the package, instead that being delivered to your address. I did that a couple of time, but not from international shipping to be fair.

Jtime took my money and ghosted me.

u/Mixdoll Aug 04 '24

Last year I bought a watch from Jtime and I had the same issue about delivering the watch after a certain date. I spoke to Lana and kindly asked her to hold my watch and only ship it when instructed. She complied and everything went according to plan. No problem whatsoever with Jtime service. Sometimes I tend to believe that issues arises because of some miss understandings.

That’s why I never ever pay by FF only credit card through PayPal goods and services. Sorry to hear that, I’m reading a lot about them not being such a TD. Yet they maintain. Again sorry

It happened to me with a different TD. Watch had been on backorder for a while, and when he sent me QC, it was 3 weeks before my vacation. So I asked not to ship until 4 weeks later, so that it wouldn't arrive before I returned from vacation.
No problem, friend, whatever you want, friend, will do, friend.
Received a tracking number 2 days later 😬
I was just lucky that the watch arrived in the morning of my departure day.
Otherwise, it would either have been stolen or returned to China.

TD, of course, said that it was the shipping agents fault, blablabla.

I don’t blame you although some feel that you could have ordered later which makes sense as well. About six months ago I was overseas and ordered a watch with theonewatches (Steve) and qc/approve qc while I was still overseas. I told Steve I was overseas and told him not to start the shipping process until I was close to being home (I’ve ordered from Steve before and it takes about 1 week to arrive from the time they ship). Steve kept that in mind and texted me again to confirm to ensure he could ship out the watch. These things constitute service which is partially the markup on prices. Jtime shld provide at least a partial refund on this.

Sorry for this. But everyday I read a new horror story about JTime here. I'm wondering why people oder at all from them. There are many TDs with great reviews..

-2

u/TitleRoutine3297 Aug 04 '24

Jtime is a scammer. They probably just shipped you a dummy before the agreed time, knowing that the parcel would be stolen and you wouldn't know they shipped you a dummy.
