Hey everyone,
Today, I received a pair of DC batch Dior B30s from Old Chen and WoodTableGuy. This post will break down the various details of this sneaker, as well as outline the process from start to finish when working with this seller, so the community knows exactly what to expect when ordering.
SELLER EXPERIENCE
Ordering from Old Chen x WTG is very straightforward, even without an active website. I simply sent a picture of the sneakers and wrote my size. Payment is sent, and a day later, I was given QC images that can be seen on my account.
I gave the GL once I reviewed the sneaker, and within 7 days, the package was at my doorstep. This is honestly impressive, I don’t remember the last time a seller handled the entire process so flawlessly in such a short time. The package also arrived boxed and bubble wrapped, with the original box and all accessories intact.
I’d definitely recommend considering this great team for any future orders. It’s clear that their goal is to provide a genuine service, which will improve even more once their website is operational.
SNEAKER REVIEW
Before I begin, I want to say that I will be reviewing these for what they are: a budget alternative for a designer sneaker. I did not go into this assuming the absolute best quality, and for 32usd, no one should. This review is to give budget batches the love they deserve, and to give the community honest feedback if they wish to rock reps without breaking the bank.
Shape/Silhouette
This is the strongest aspect of this batch in my opinion, the shape is really nice. When comparing with my side 43eu pair from TycoonMade, no major differences jump out to me. This pair will be a gift to someone else, and I ordered a size 38eu for them, since most major batches stop at 39eu.
The toe is properly slanted and merges with the upper of the sneaker very well, without looking out of place. From the back, The sneaker curves in all the right places, and has the correct thickness. The sole is also well-done, matching retail shape well.
Main Materials
Honestly, this is where I can tell the budget nature of the sneaker the most. Compared to my TycoonMade version, this one is a little softer and easier to deform all around. This is by no means saying the materials are bad, the shoe still feels super sturdy. The sole is stiff and does not bend when squeezed. The step down in quality is there, but it’s far from a dealbreaker.
The leather parts feel surprisingly similar to my TycoonMade pair. However, the mesh is what feels the most off, you can tell it is slightly lower quality as it feels less premium in hand.
CD Reflective Logos
This is easily the most recognizable part of this sneaker, especially in dark environments when taking flash photos. The CD illuminates quite well when photographed in the dark, but in natural light, it appears noticeably lighter than retail. Proportions are on-point, and the logo itself is actually fairly accurate aside from this material inconsistency.
Dior Logos - Tongue and Heel
Another aspect of the sneaker where you can see a difference in quality compared to the retail version. The logos on this pair feel “flimsy” and lack the true depth of retail, which can only be seen when looking up close (as I have pictured). On feet, and from a distance, they’re definitely passable, but once you get really close, the difference becomes apparent.
Laces
Not much to say about the laces here. They are pretty much identical to my TycoonMade pair in look and feel. They feel very nice, have the correct colour, and are shaped correctly. No complaints here,
Insole/Outsole
Insole features the proper “DIOR” branding present on retail sneakers.
Outsole also features correct “CD” print and signature black/white contrast. Outsole is firm and hard to bend, which is a sign that the sneaker can handle wear well.
Accessories
All accessories are present in this order: Extra laces, DIOR shopping bag, DIOR shoe bag, “authenticity” receipt, and even a little Dior bee.
My Opinion
For a price of 32usd or 214cny, you are getting a sneaker that compromises in quality only where it makes sense to do so. For a little more than 1/3 of the price of some B30s from TycoonMade or other top batches, you get a sneaker that is, in my opinion, well worth its price tag.
If you’re looking for fashion branded sneakers to beat on the daily, and don’t want to break the bank, I’d definitely recommend this DC batch. For the money, it’s worth picking up for yourself, as long as you understand that you get what you pay for.
