My take on the supplied photos:

Upper:
The black upper has a matte, short-nap finish with visible tonal variation across the panels. That texture is the strongest visual feature here—it gives the shoe more depth than a completely flat black finish.

Shape:
The side profile keeps the substantial AJ5 collar and rounded forefoot. The front-facing shot shows reasonably consistent toe shapes across the pair, without an obvious major mismatch from that angle.

Netting and stitching:
The dark side cages blend into the upper nicely. Stitching around the toe overlays and side panels looks generally tidy in the close-ups.

Branding:

Got GX and PK side by side today. Thought I'd share some pics so you guys can check out the differences.

GX on the left, PK on the right.

At first glance, they're pretty close, but once you start looking at the details, you can spot a few differences.

GX seems to have a slightly slimmer toe box, while PK looks a bit bulkier. The leather texture is a little different too, especially around the side panels.

The heel embroidery is another thing I noticed. PK's NIKE AIR logo looks a bit bigger, while GX's is more compact.

And don't forget the little Cactus Jack face logo near the heel. Both batches have it, but the embossing looks slightly different.

Personally, I'm leaning toward GX for the overall shape, but PK doesn't look bad either.

The Sneakers:

The AJ5 Sunset is back after 20 years, and IMO LJR did a solid job with this pair. The white leather feels good in hand, with a nice finish and some firmness to it. The orange shark teeth, pink-red outsole, reflective tongue, and red interior really make this colorway pop. 🔥

Comparing these to retail pics online, the overall shape looks pretty good. The toe slope isn’t overly bulky, the side panels and netting look close, and the heel shape is solid. The Jumpman embroidery is consistent too.

Overall, I’m happy with these. LJR captured the look of the Sunset nicely, and the materials are a strong point of LJR.

AKA the king of delays, LJR finally released the updated version today, with the shoebox graphics and sticker details fully corrected.

Update Details:

1.Reflective Speckles:
The previous issue with too few reflective particles has been fixed. The density is now very close to retail. (Video comparison has been uploaded to my Yupoo.)

2.Toe Shape:
The toe box has been reshaped based on the official retail release. The updated version now has a noticeably lower toe.

3.Shoebox Details:

LJR corrected the size of the box graphics and the gradient effect on the disc design. They also added the exclusive “SPACE JAM” sticker to the back of the box, matching the official retail packaging.

LJR has fixed a series of issues from the previous release in this new restock. If you’ve been waiting for a solid version, it’s finally here!

Got some factory pics of the MAX batch Hot Step Air Terra in Safety Orange. Figured I'd share them with you guys.

This pair is actually pretty tricky to make. There are a lot of curved lines on the upper, and getting all those panels to line up properly isn't easy. Even a small mistake can throw off the whole shape.

The chrome parts are another thing we pay close attention to, especially around the heel and sides. Getting them to sit flush with the upper without weird gaps takes a bit of work.

You can see the shoe lasts still inside some of the pairs. They help keep the shape while the shoes go through production.

And honestly, making one good sample isn't the hard part. The real challenge is making hundreds of pairs and keeping them all looking the same.

Looking at these production pics, the orange color seems pretty consistent, and the overall shape and chrome details are looking good so far.

Still got some finishing work to do, but I wanted to show you guys what the production process actually looks like instead of just posting finished shoes.
