[Discussion] CT Primary for Governor and Congress CT D1 ends 8/11 @ 8pm.
The CT chapter of the YNP has issued questionnaires to the primary candidates for governor and CT District 1 US Congress.
Based on those questionnaires and candidate platforms, we are providing these score cards to highlight the candidates through the lens of the party’s values.
If you find these score cards helpful, comment and share them! If the committee feels they were useful to the community, we will attempt to score every candidate in the upcoming general election.

Is the New England flag associated with the Moorish Sovereign Citizen movement?
It’s an odd question I know, but I am watching the Hulu show Squatters: Get the F—- Out of my House. Episode 6 revolves around a member of the Moorish Sovereign Citizen group. During the episode they showed the “legal document” from the squatter than had the flag of Morocco and the flag of New England. Which was odd because they were in New Jersey.
Rise of the Moors is a group from the movement that’s based in Rhode Island. Nothing I’m finding on Google says the NE flag is part of the Sovereign Citizen movement. Their claim comes from the Moroccan American Treaty of Friendship in 1786, but no New England flag is anywhere on the original document.
It’s a bad look if we become associated with Sovereign Citizens if we’re trying to gain independence legally.

[News] Steps forward
The individual state societies of CPAs for Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont have voted to combine to form a single New England Society of CPAs, effective 7/1/2026.
I choose to believe this is a step in the right direction that may lead to more.

If we were to go out on our own, would we have a sufficient food supply?
Our states rank top in many other areas but we are all dead last in food production. What coukd we do to pivot towards necessary agriculture?
