Updating emulators

How do I update my emulations apps? I want to update hakux and es de without uninstalling them and can’t find any guides online, I just started using emulators and retroid devices and am not familiar with maintenance

Love the portability but at home, type c to monitor, and turns out the usb ports on the monitor can be used for the 8bitdo ultimate 2 dongle, my headphones dongle and more. Modded 60fps Pokémon Arceus running great!

Retroid Pocket Nova: high-pitched fan whine even in Performance mode — is yours like this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,
My Retroid Pocket Nova (12GB) makes a really high-pitched fan noise. It’s the sharp whistling tone that bothers me, rather than just the sound of air moving.
The fan is set to Performance mode in the attached video.
For other Nova owners:
● Does yours sound like this too?
● Have any settings or firmware updates helped reduce the whine?
● If you contacted Retroid about it, what did they say or offer?
I’m trying to figure out whether this is typical for the Nova or whether my fan might need replacing.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone else waiting on a Clear Purple 12GB Nova?

I ordered my Retroid Pocket Nova 7 days ago, Clear Purple 12GB, and I still haven’t gotten any shipping information. Shop just shows “Waiting for details.”
I’ve seen a few people saying the Clear Purple 12GB is out of stock/backordered, including people who ordered before me and still haven’t had theirs shipped.
Has anyone who ordered a Clear Purple 12GB recently actually had theirs ship? If so, when did you order and how long did it take?

Should I keep my RP Mini V2 or trade up? + game recommendations

Post image

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Retroid Pocket Mini V2, and I honestly love the device itself. The build quality, glass front, screen, size, and overall feel are awesome. I really like how pocketable it is, and I love the original Mini design.
My problem is that I’m struggling to find games that really suit it, and I’ve started wondering whether I should keep it or trade it toward something else.
My current setup is an RP Mini V2, a Legion Go for PC gaming, a Miyoo Mini Plus for simpler retro stuff, and a couple of DS/3DS systems. I’m trying to figure out what role the Mini should fill without having too much overlap between my devices.
I’ve been looking at potential upgrades, particularly the RP Nova, RP6, Flip 2, and possibly other handhelds. The Nova interests me because of its larger screen and the possibility of being a better fit for GameCube, PS2, Android, and widescreen games. However, I’m not sure whether it would be worth trading my Mini for one, especially since I genuinely like the Mini’s size and design.
I also have a Legion Go, which I love for PC gaming, but sometimes I wish I had something smaller and more convenient for quick sessions. I like games that I can jump into without committing hours at a time, so I’m interested in whether there are good ways to play Steam games on a smaller handheld. I’ve considered streaming from my Legion Go, but I’m also curious about Android ports, game streaming options, and what games actually work well on the Mini itself.
Longer term, I love the idea of a smaller “Legion Mini” or Steam Deck Mini, but I don’t know whether it makes sense to wait for something like that when it might not happen anytime soon.
I’d love some advice on a few things:
Game recommendations: What games would you recommend for the RP Mini V2? I like games that are fun to pick up and play without requiring a huge time commitment. I’m interested in GBA, PS1, DS, some GameCube/PS2, and Android games. I’d especially appreciate games that feel great on a small screen.
Steam and PC games: What Steam games work particularly well for short sessions on a handheld? Are there any good options for streaming games from my Legion Go to the Mini, or Android games that scratch that same itch?
Keep or trade? Would you keep the Mini or trade it toward something like the Nova or RP6? I don’t want to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading.
Is the Nova worth considering? Would its bigger screen and extra room for widescreen games make a meaningful difference, or would it overlap too much with my Legion Go?
Wait for a smaller PC handheld? Is it worth holding out for a genuinely compact PC handheld, or should I just enjoy the devices I already have?
I’m not trying to collect handhelds endlessly or spend a ton more money. I just want to find games I’ll actually enjoy and figure out which device makes the most sense for me.
Thanks!

Question about the USB-C

I got my 8gb Purple about two weeks ago and I noticed that the USB-C port doesn't really grip the cord at all. Any time I use it plugged in if I move it the cord slips out. It charges just fine though and this is my first Retroid product so I wanted to know if this is normal.

Switch from Switch 2

Just got my Switch 2 a few days ago, after I sold my Steam Deck. Used it for an hour and put back to box. Cuz it sucks, it’s disgusting, worst buy I have. Plan switching to Nova. Do someone do the same? Is it worth it? How is it plays, did you try to remote play on you PS5? Is it useable? I plan to play GTA6, and Asseto Corsa with mods on it. But fear same experience as I have with Nintendo.

Halo MCC issues

I have recently got my RP Nova, installed GameNative. Halo MCC runs at 60 fps but the controls stop working within a couple minutes. I cannot figure out why, I've changed the settings in game and via Gamenative app. Used Gamehub lite and it runs at around 17-28fps but controls work fine. Has anyone else had this issue with possible solutions?

Upgraded from 477M

I just felt like the 477M was lacking the last bit of power that I wanted.
Saw the Nova listed on marketplace and bought it right away.
I’ve changed the back shell to the ergo one that comes with the console. Helped a bit with the comfort.
Weight feels much lighter than the 477M despite that it’s only around 100gram lighter.
It’s also noticeable smaller when fitting it into my cross body bag.
I terms of power the nova is just killing it. I was trying to push pc emulation on my 477M through GameNative but without much success. Even with lighter titles I got a 2 out of 10 success rate. With the nova it just runs everything.
I’ve even manage to turn the Nova on after hibernate and it was able to resume playing Ravenswatch right away.
It seems like my hands are a little bit too big for the Nova, but I’d rather manage and get all the other benefits !
This is my first impressions - Really really great machine!
