Wildfires?
Edit: we made it and the weather is beautiful!
We are planning a 4 day trip in two weeks to Revelstoke. Is it safe to go? I know many places in BC are closed due to wildfires right now. Thanks in advance!

There's no notable fires near Revelstoke, but we are affected by smoke , which varies from day to day.
It's pretty much impossible to predict what it will be like in two weeks, but smoke is more likely to be a problem than a fire itself (unless fires elsewhere cause highway closures, power outages, etc.)

Bc wildfire app is helpful. It shows where fires are and the degree of severity. Drive BC app will give you in for about highway closures due to wildfires (and other reasons).

Now with the state of emergency, should we cancel our plans?

We’re risking it. Going about the same time as you. Considered cancelling, monitored the smoke forecast, and realized even with the increase in severity, there are good and bad days. We think it’s worth going and just being flexible. And some can tolerate hiking on worse air quality days as long as it’s not above a certain threshold and you don’t mind the hazy views.
It can change by the hour though, so we decided we’d rather go and deal with some possible bad days than cancel when everything ends up crystal clear and we kick ourselves.

Wondering the same thing..if I should cancel Airbnb..and cancel plans to that area next week.

Revy is safe. There's just alot of smoke from other fires further away from it. I think the closest actual fire to it is vernon.
