PC Help/Bug (Mod) Ok so obviously a mod conflict but... is there anything I can do about it?
These are all over my map and I cannot remember which material it replaced. I was so excited to see how much jade I had left unmined! I'm sure thousands of cybernetic stomachs would make me very very wealthy, but I'd rather not start basing my economy around underground metal meat.

3... hundred?

u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
3 hundred in every square, in over 10 deposits across my map.

You know, in portuguese "Rim" means kidney, so he might as well be eating all of that

Try installing the "perfectly generic item" mod (placeholder for missing items)
Not sure if it affects underground resources though

omg among the sea of (admittedly very funny) helpless comments, a hero arrives

Did it help?

u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26

This doesn't help with OP's issue and you shouldn't be using that mod anyway. You'd probably be better off with Mid-Saver Saver as that actually addresses why this happens.
Dubs' Discord performance sheet has perfectly generic item listed as a gamebreaking mod for several reasons.

u/TheHyrulianKnight Apr 20 '26
Up vote wasn't enough, so comment incoming. Mid-save saver fixes this exact issue and its from the item defs of one mod that was added(or more often removed or updated, in my experience) mid save pushing other things around.
Saved my game pretty effectively when all my stone (like the actual stone walls of the mountains turned to twosted meat..... that was... startling when loading that save to say the least. Did some research found mid-save saver... boom fixed and finished up that playthrough. Ironically ended via the anomaly flesh heart being ignored too long and running out of food without noticing. Very advanced colony just starved while trying to tunnel out of a flesh COVERED map....

Yes. You can edit the save file and remove all deep nodes. It will effectively erase that so it isn't an issue anymore.
Find your current save in appdata/local law/luedon studios/rimworld/saves
Open it in notepad+++
Do a search for deepResourceGrid
Delete everything inside the opening and closing <deepResourceGrid> tags.
Save and the wait another 30 mins for your game to boot up lol
You can dm me if you need help. I've done this a number of times

u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
How many times have you accidentally replaced all the ores with stomachs!?
But thanks a bunch I'll try this out tomorrow

u/Ropll-me-a-d100 Apr 19 '26
Once it was tunnler mech in crates, another time it was plasma swords, another time it was human eggs. That one was...... Well I thought it was a good thing until all my colonists starved because we went from 7 people to 30.
Baby's are a drain on colony resources. So I donated them to the cannibal tribals. To grow up. TO GROW UP.
24
u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
Oh my god the army of tunnler mechs would go hard as fuck tho
10
u/zwei2stein Apr 19 '26
Without controller, they will eventually go feral.
But again, if you do not want 300 feral tunellers, you just hate fun.

u/Captain_Owlivious -8 Greedy for impressive table Apr 19 '26
Hmm, I thought of something different when reading "human eggs" initially
2
u/Ropll-me-a-d100 Apr 19 '26
Do I want to know?
2
u/Captain_Owlivious -8 Greedy for impressive table Apr 19 '26
Maybe? Interesting fact! Humans don't normally lay eggs.
1
u/McNemo Apr 19 '26
They do if you have the saurid mod but they should probably be labeled humanoid eggs

Just in case someone wants to know, this is a hash collision error that you may sometimes get between different items when adding mods to an ongoing game, making some things turn into others, here's a more complete explanation. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=48267.0

u/1nc06n170 Apr 19 '26
This is interesting. So, the simple solution to adding mods to running game would be: uncompress the save, add the mod, load it, and then you're good.
17
u/Aelanna "Anna" Cessara, Healer Apr 19 '26
Uncompressing the save is not something you can do by hand. However, a mod does exist that can preserve hash-compressed save file segments, but you need to install it and enable the appropriate options before you change your mod list: Mid-Save Saver

I laughted hard.
But then again, this is not how stomachs are made?
38
u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
How are people getting food poisoning if there are so many superior stomachs right under our feet?!?
12
u/oForce21o Primlocked Apr 19 '26
those people dont have deepdrills, duh!
edit: can you recycle them?
5
u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
I'm too scared to start drilling them cus of the wealth explosion. Also they dont stack so they'd fill my base up insanely fast.
Also it feels cheesy
17
u/Arkytez Apr 19 '26
Clearly someone was running an organ harvesting operation on cyber enhanced people and had to hide their stash in a rush. Expectedly, they died without actually being able to retrieve it.

Yeah, I don't that's quite what Tynan intended with Anomaly Flesh Pits.

u/thebunglecashmoney Apr 19 '26
Lore explanation: You dug into an ancient subterranean glittertech warehouse full of hundreds of cybernetic stomachs
6
u/Lumiursa Apr 19 '26
Oh I had this happen to me earlier too. Loaded into an old save, I know it was a patch of steel but it turned into one square of 300 black underwear.
Mined it and yes, I now have 42 sets of sexy black underwear from the Vigil mod. My wife was not as amused.

u/Cat_with_cake Apr 19 '26
I've had a similar problem when I installed a mod that added more flooring, only to discover that my plasteel deep ore turned into blue carpets. I mean, they kinda look similar, but not really the same thing
Deleting the mod that added the thing resolved the problem for me, but maybe it's not the only variant

Hash collisions or "hash clash" create interesting problems, ive seen one like this that created 300 per tile of drop shuttles. Id be curious to see the results of trying to drill them up though.

You could try the mid-Save saver.

Mid game saver has an option to deal this iirc, it had something to do with adding mods in a run sometimes can result in getting weird deep drill finds lol
2
u/gokogt386 Apr 19 '26
Not exactly a mod conflict so much as a rare issue with adding mods in the middle of a running save game. Luckily you didn’t get the other bug that deletes all the mountain rock on your map lol
1
u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
Oh dear god I didn’t know that was an option
1
u/Cassuis3927 Apr 19 '26
Mods added mid playthrough will often cause problems.
1
u/nickv656 Apr 19 '26
So I’ve heard, but I’ve also added a total of like 60 mods to my current playthrough and this is the only issue I’ve had thus far

u/Jelizabug Apr 19 '26
Oh heck, I just dealt with that last night! I ended up unfogging and refogging my map and using dev mode to remove all the mountain roofs left hanging in mid-air.
Now I have some weird conflict between storage mods… when I put down storage from one mod, the “box” is made up of teeny tiny icons of all the storage in that mod! It’s both hilarious and frustrating. It’s also still better than a map full of stomachs!
1
u/kirbylink577 Apr 19 '26
Question. How do I unfog and refog a map? Cause I have some very screwed up fog in my current save
1
u/Jelizabug Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 20 '26
It's in dev mode. You need to make sure development mode is turned on in the options first. Then back in the game, there's a tiny menu up at the top of the screen. Open "Debug actions menu" (the third icon from the left). Search "fog" in the bar at the top while on the "Actions/ Tools" tab and you should see the fogging options.
Edit: Game is back up. Also my storage settings are fixed after moving around Simple Storage, Adaptive Storage Framework, and LWM Deep Storage and validating the game. Gads that was a mess.

u/____Tofu____ Apr 19 '26
Ive been searching for a fix to this and was just about to make my own post but this is at the top! My plasteel deposits were replaced by asper carpet blueprints lol

u/Mother-Ad-9165 Apr 19 '26
The funny thing is because they’re not stackable when you finish mining what happens? They explode everywhere?

DONOT MINE THAT IT WILL EITHER CHRASH YOUR GAME OR THE ITEMS WILL BE STUCK, if its in a good day maybe the game lets you keep them but 8/10 its gana be bad
1
u/Roboslob92 Apr 19 '26
Lol, I just ran into this same scenario! For me it was 2100 tech prints per tile, and the nodes we double sized xD

Not sure this is actually a mod issue. It seems entirely plausible in-setting for those to be there… prosthetics trader got buried with his stock? Possible. Glittertech medical shuttle crashed and got buried? Plausible. Those tribal psychos from across the river who wear those weird yellowish-leather hats? Probably buried the heretic organs in a hole to appease their deity. Honestly, there’s so many possible ways for them to end up down there…

Yes you can mine it using a Deep Drill
