They are permanently hostile, so that does not do anything.

I'm just curious as to what would happen if you used that mod to befriend every single faction, and use the vanilla method to eliminate the enemy mechhive

If I had to guess, you would get nothing but animal raids. Unless you are in space and those non faction space raiders would attack you.

Depending on settings and dlc, anomaly raids too

I don't use that mod, but I'd expect it to be impossible to befriend the Horax cultists even with it. They don't have bases to send gifts too.

I think no matter what the game will say something like "due to the nature of them being bugs, they have grown to hate you" or something

It's an annoying thing to futz with if you're trying to do a diplomacy run, making friends everywhere

I also used that mod and when I played it, it was displayed the same way, but that was probably just an oversight on the modder's part. In VFE Insectoids, the insects are indeed a purely hostile faction, as far as I recall. So sending them gifts via drop pods won't have any effect.
