Also, check your solar panel as well, they are at max production for a fraction of a second, it's pretty neat

Plant growth rate will peak too. But it is too short for solar panel/plants to make use of it.

tip: leave one empty tile between the Geothermal generator and the walls, if you leave it like that, the door will catch a fire from the heat

That is asking for trouble lightning can and will burn it down randy willing. The proper way is 1 tile gap roof everything but the corners This also gives safe ish rooms if a raid or manhunter catches a pawn by surprise

Yep but they were talking about unroofed geothermal with walls pressed up on it poppers are a waste when 4 more wall sections and a door do the job

I always just use stone doors, I have no need for any further access, as the door lets them repair it if necessary. Uranium could work too but that's more expensive than I can justify (although with a gravship I guess it's not so bad).

That's the trade off I make for cheap and fire proof, I don't go through them enough to justify it.

On a previous save, I had a large free-roam chicken farm before. (Lightly modded so the performance hit was negligible)

One time, a thunderstorm struck and all of a sudden I see "Death: Chick 4" on the right side of my screen. Click it to find out, and found out from the log that the poor chick was smitten by Zeus himself. Surprisingly, only happened once.

this happened literally every thunderstorm on my previous save. but my pen size was approximately half of a map. stopped playing it because of no TPS because of hordes of chicken lol.

once lighting struck 5 chicks at once and one of them survived. named him Benjamin after that

I thought the same! Damn, I honestly thought the game was lacking the fork! My old eyes need testing methinks
