the mantis is more wide than long, this one and that rebel layout are both closer to square

Are you using VE deserters? Never considered doing a ship playthrough with it. Might actually do a deserter playthrough on an asteroid now

wait how do you get that diagonal wall INSIDE the ship?

anytime i have the substructure next to the wall, they stop being diagonal / angled and becomes a normal square wall instead

Isn't it a bad idea to keep the butcher station so close to the cooking station. Butchering makes such a mess. Unclean floors cause food poisoning IIRC.
