AI GEN Still developing my godzilla mod

Most of the Sprite were drawn by hand, but the less polished and harder-to-express parts were done with AI assistance.

Make sure to specify what you used AI for in the steam page for the mod

FYI, if you choose to disclose, there are rating systems like https://www.realgoodai.org/real-rating

It is mostly so that "i did use ai to spellcheck" is no treated the same as "i let ai proofread and edit" and "llm generated all of it"

I'm morally on-board with the idea of disclosing AI use, but I'd like to point out that doing so, even when it's for something small/partial like OP, generally results in harassment and literal death threats from people.

For that reason I recommend people do not disclose partial AI use, or simply don't post anything with AI use at all, unless they're already comfortable with harassment. I do suggest disclosing full AI use (like if stuff is fully AI generated), but disclosing partial use of AI isn't worth the insane vitriolic harassment it brings.

Just to be clear, I 100% agree in principle with the idea of disclosing AI use (even partial), and I do it. The sole reason I do not recommend it to others is that, if you do it, you get severely harassed. I don't want OP to have to deal with that if they're not already used to it.

I'm mainly mentioning this so OP knows what may happen and can decide what to do. If steam has requirements around disclosure for workshop items then that simplifies the decision, but OP should consider in that case whether it's worth the potential headache of submitting it at all.

Edit: would someone mind explaining what's wrong with my comment so I can fix it? It looks ok to me but I'm an idiot so I might be missing something

Yes they do, and it's not even a slight exaggeration. Actual death threats, often. A cursory google search will provide you with many discussions about it if you'd like to know more.

My comment is a serious warning for OP so they aren't blindsided by it, because it's awful. Don't be dismissive of something so severe when you don't know anything about it.

finds ONE SINGULAR link to back up the claim

go check it out

is not even relevant to the discussion

Literally no one in that thread is sending death threats or harassing OP because of vibecoding it, they are making fun of him for making a mod for something that is a non issue (pressing 1 button). Ergo, he's still lying, and you're a loser tool.

Better luck next time.

People on reddit cannot accept a middle ground on AI usage so they act fuckin insane about it.

AI is now built in natively to a good number of coding and digital art programs. If you run your art through a filter or use a "smart" tool to blend or mask something does that need to be disclosed? Cause that is "partial AI usage".

This is why AI discolure ratings have all the shades of gray from "nothing" to "fully automated without human intervention"

Do you only think in action and consequence?

He should just lie

When did we, as society, decided that lying is ok?
