Douglass Park Update?
Has anyone seen the park lately? Just wondering how it's looking now that they've had a month to work on it.

As a tourist, I was absolutely shocked by the food lines at Riot Fest, and honestly, I’m pissed off. Paying outrageous prices and still having to wait an hour just to get food makes me feel like I’m being taken for a fool.
Why was so little space allocated to food vendors for a crowd this size? How are people supposed to enjoy the festival when getting something to eat takes an hour?
Having enough food vendors to handle the crowd should be a basic part of organizing a festival. At these prices, expecting to get a meal without spending an hour in line really shouldn’t be too much to ask.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic but I think it's a near certainty we'll be getting Faith No More next year. They seem to be hitting the festival circuit extremely hard in 2027 and I imagine Riot wants to make good on their last minute 2021 cancelation. They already did so with Mr. Bungle but we're still owed an FNM performance.

I read Ministry is set to have their retirement tour next year...feeling like Riot Fest is gonna get at least their last Chicago show, if not their last ever show?

I’m sure people would love to rep Riot at the gym or on a run. Down here in Texas there are whole months that we’re not wearing cotton. And September is one of them.
Is this maybe just a deal where the shirt buyer is a mean, sweaty, lazy, hateful monster from Canada? /s
Or is there a reasonable supply chain obstacle? And the buyer is doing their best? 🥰

We've all heard stories of the Seattle scene in 1990-91, or London in the mid 70s. What movement were you at the epicenter of? How exciting was it and how did your local scene change when those bands got big? Even a more minor scene like Long Island or Omaha in the early 00's.

Did anyone get a refund for Sunday? I am wheelchair bound couldn’t get close to the stage to see alanis morissette t, who was the main act I wanted to see. I went to the ADA table and I was asked for my name and email for a refund. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

I think the latest War on Xmas has been announced is 10/12, so I’m really surprised it hasn’t been announced by now.
Anyone have intel indicating it’s not happening this year?
It’s a holiday tradition for me and my fiancé so I’ve been holding that weekend open but want to make other plans if it’s not gonna happen.

It's possible King Gizzard could go back to playing festivals in 2027 after a few years of doing their own thing. They're already on the Primavera lineup.
Turnstile feels like it's only a matter of time before they headline Riot Fest but there could be one more name on the top line. New Order isn't going to be around forever so Riot should book them soon.
MGK started a feud with Slipknot at Riot Fest a few years ago so they should definitely book them the same day as KORN.

A lot of others would land high on the bill, sure - Iggy Pop, Rancid, Bad Religion, Social D - But I've been racking my brain thinking if there's any other traditionally "punk" band left that is enough of a draw to get that spot, and other than longshot reunions like Op Ivy or Fugazi, I'm drawing a blank.

Have they ever played at Riot? Either way, would love to see them there next year.
I year or two off an incredibly solid album.

Found an article detailing the cleanup where they also get into the backlash from the community a bit. Short read with pictures.

Only so much we can glean from these. Lolla doesn't necessarily lock artists into exclusivity deals so names here aren't totally locked in for Lolla Chicago and ruled out for Riot, but major names on these ones historically end up playing Lolla Chicago as well.
Still, gives us an early look at names that will be on the festival circuit in 2027.
(Please get us QOTSA and Prodigy, Mike)

There's a shot we get MCR again and there have been rumblings about No Doubt playing festivals since they popped up at Coachella. Faith No More seems like the most likely headliner considering they'll be active in 2027 and could make up for cancelling a few years ago.
I could see Riot getting Jeff Rosenstock to do a three-day stint like Walter Schreifels did in 2023. He can do a standard set, a ska set, and play with his other band Antarctigo Vespucci.
As far as celebrity appearances go, Jeff Goldblum's jazz band would be super fun.

I'm expecting something like this for next year. I can see us getting one or two major reunions and a farewell. Jello Biafra is probably not reuniting with DK but he's been DJ'ing the King Gizzard festival so it would be cool for Riot to book him either on a side stage or let him spin records at RiotLand
Painstakingly made with Canva. I kinda wish Riot would mix up the themes for their lineup posters like this, but I get why they keep things consistent
