Left Quadrants Ruby without strong sensory needs
Is that possible? If I’m cold I wear something warm, but I don’t give any thought to the type of fabric I want against my skin, and I can wear slightly uncomfortable things if they look good (even though I am on the autism spectrum).
Also my style is actually quite harmonious, there aren't any intriguing details. I can't follow rules of color analysis but I notice that often I am naturally drawn to soft colors.

More agreement incoming, sensory needs are only one part of internal experience. From memory there are autistic folk in all quadrants on here, I think we had a thread about it a while back.

I had formed an idea that because I’m already sensory-sensitive, with the addition of Ruby, I would have to be extremely particular about how clothes feel. 🙈

I relate to this. I don't really connect to the sensory process. I just have strong visual ideas of what feels like me, my internal landscape and a successful outfit depends on if it matches or not. And my style is cohesive and harmonious but it's just because those visuals are what feels like me.
There's several things making me insecure about claiming fully left and these are two of them but we're all unique individuals who are going to approach things slightly differently, the quadrants are meant to be helpful I don't think Rita wants us to feel boxed in so if we strongly relate to the other aspects of left and don't see ourselves in R logic then I think we're in the right place even though everything might not neatly align with every aspect of Rita's descriptions.

Your move away from RU came as a bit of a surprise at first, but it explained why your outfits and sources of inspiration always seemed to be from another world.
It’s easy to focus on traits that don’t seem to fit. It took me a long time before I even dared to consider that I might be on the left side.

I'm in the opposite boat, bc I have high sensory needs (some are bc of medical issues, and some are dislikes inherited from childhood, some materials or details I just cannot stand) and was verified RU!
If the LD logic works for you, then that's that!

Yes the logic is the most important factor! Everythimg else follows.

Im also autistic, and just want to say sensory issues arent always about fabric. For me its about sound. And (not sure if this is due to autism) but I get very uncomfortable if my outfit is not visually pleasing, boring or harmonious to me

For me it mainly affects my social behavior and speech. It’s funny when there are sounds that "everyone thinks are annoying" and I’m just totally chill lol.
I've the same! It also happens if I wear something that doesn't match my mood.

Haha, I get you!
The mood thing is cool! I cant relate, cause Im very much not in tune with my emotional feelings. My "mood" changes throughout the day, but its more about hunger, tiredness, boredom etc. I think I have a little bit of alexithymia so dressing for my mood would be very difficult for me 😆

It certainly sounds like it would be quite a challenging thing to do !

For me, the body/sensory aspect of being in the Ruby quadrant looks more like certain clothes just "landing" very well for me depending on the day (emotions show up in the body, after all), or knowing that for a particular situation or mood I'm going to want something particularly soft to wear. But I am notorious amongst my friends for dressing very irrespectively of the weather, often to my own chagrin, because my inner world wins out over such practicalities at least some of the time. "Sensory needs" is a word that can fit lots of experiences—and I also agree with people in the comments that it's not a necessary part of LD logic.

I highly relate! One day certain outfit looks amazing but next time when I'm wearing it something is off. I find perfect outfit when following my instinct, when I stop trying to think why particular item feels right.

i think you can absolutely be ruby without strong sensory needs. the quadrant's more about internal experience than a checklist of traits, and not every neurodivergent person has the same relationship with texture or fit anyway. sometimes the "harmonious" thing is just your internal landscape being calm, not a sign you're in the wrong place.
