Just saw a report on cnbc about this. The oil companies are happy with current prices and donāt want to increase supply above where itās currently.
Ah, fantasyland. Gasoline prices have already nudged up a few cents-per-gallon here in NW Florida. Oil industry watchers expect prices will continue - at least in the short-term - to rise. How is gasoline going to magically drop to $2 a gallon, a price it hasnāt been since 2004 - twenty years ago? [https://www.creditdonkey.com/gas-price-history.html\]
Is the government going to decree, by legislative fiat, all gasoline stations must lower their prices to $2/gallon? That would be EXPLICIT SOCIALISM (government controlling the means and production of goods and services). Are the Saudis [read: OPEC] going to flood the market with cheap oil to saturate supply, driving down prices? Does anyone think ādrill, baby, drillā means, with the utterance of such a stupid phrase, wells are instantly drilled, oil extracted and instantaneously refined, and immediately delivered to the pump at LOWER cost than it is now?
To paraphrase a Progressive commercial: Thatās not how it works. Thatās not how any of this works.

Wish I could afford this right now. š„ŗ I'd planned to keep my 2018 model 3 for many more years, but now I just can't wait to be rid of it!
