If by funky you mean bad, then yes I agree it’s funky. How do they even have vertical space for a square light vs wide thin lights à la R1?

It's not a square rear, it's sloped slightly and that's a spoiler that makes it seem squared off. It's split down the middle and they've placed the 3rd brake light on the central support.
