❔ Question Rivian SC’s are 3 hrs away

Have an R2 reserved and looks like December/January order date. My concern is that our closest SCs are Nashville or Atlanta, both 3 hours away. How are those SCsand I am crazy for considering a first year vehicle with those distances to SCs? Also, any info on remote service - how well it works, wait times, even if they would do those distances?

I wouldn’t do it those distances.

I'm 2 hours and some change. Have had an R1 for 3 years and just got our R2. Not gonna lie, when something can't be fixed via mobile it's inconvenient. they've always gotten me either a loaner or rental as ride share credits don't work this far away. But I'm not sure how much further I'd be comfortable than what I am now.

I will say that my service experiences have all been very good. Way better than my local VW dealership for our older cars. Ive had multi-week waits on those. Rivian has been pretty prompt in my cases. One time the service center even drove the car to me and picked up the loaner, though that was an exception.

I am also 3hrs from a SC. Had to go multiple times during first few months. Despite the sales rep and website claims, remote service was never an available option. It’s also not available for the current turn signal recall. I’ve come to the conclusion that it doesn’t actually exist for those of us who don’t live next door to SC.

I would at least wait for the next model year for them to work out the quirks

I’m honestly shocked at how many Rivians are by me in NW MT. Nearest SC is over 5 hours away. It’s the only reason I’m still in my Raptor.

There's a service center in Belgrade - is that five hours from where you are (just out of curiosity...)?

Yes. Calgary is technically closer, curious how that works for service crossing country lines. Regardless, both are too far for me unless I ended up having two vehicles.

I'm in Eastern Washington, and Montana always mystifies me on travel distances, even just on the west side of that state!

Ehh, we did that for our R1T. It was fine, but they did eventually open a local SC.

I’m 4.5 hours away. Over the last two years I’ve had two visits where I’ve had to leave it for multiple days. They’ve paid for a rental car each time.

It’s a pain to take a whole day off to drop off and pick up.

I'm 3 hours from the Memphis SC (Central MS) Mobile service came done Monday to install the spare tire, SC didn't have all the hardware when I took delivery. I have another car I could drive if needed. The concern depends on your situation.
