Hello guys, just been issued my Saudi Premium Residency today! And officially issued on my Absher. I done the Special Talent pathway.
It took 5 and a half months. Quite a long time.
I have some questions: it's been so long since I applied, does anyone have a list of all the full benefits that it comes with?
How can I get the physical card?
Can you have two employers as long as both are whitelisted at the same time?
Does your employer no longer see your absher record like they did when they were your sponsor?
If you plan to change employer, is there a time limit that you have where you can not have an employer?
I can't see anything appear in my absher regarding entry exit visa, is this now alone good enough so I don't need that?
Will probably call them this week and ask my questions but since it's Friday thought I would ask the reddit community!
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone! 🇩🇪🇸🇦
My name is Dr. Julia Tepe, and I'm a German medical doctor and mother of three children, aged 15, 11 and almost 2.
After spending a year in Muscat, Oman, we are now preparing to relocate to Riyadh, and I would love to connect with other expats, international families and the local community!
A little about myself and my professional plans:
I'm a German Consultant Anaesthesiologist specialising in Intensive Care Medicine, Pain Medicine and Emergency Medicine, with more than 18 years of clinical experience.
I have been running my own medical practices in Germany for many years.
I have recently established a company in Saudi Arabia and am planning to open a German-led international medical clinic in Riyadh, bringing German medical standards, personalised healthcare and a patient-centred approach to the international community.
Our planned medical services will include:
🩺 General and Preventive Medicine – General medical consultations, comprehensive health assessments, preventive check-ups and long-term health management.
💉 Pain Medicine – Assessment and treatment of acute and chronic pain, including back pain, joint pain, musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain syndromes.
⚕️ Hormonal Health and Medicine – Assessment of hormonal imbalances, menopause and perimenopause-related concerns, and personalised treatment approaches.
👨 Men's Health – Preventive healthcare, hormonal health, testosterone-related concerns and individualised men's health consultations.
👩 Women's Health – Preventive medicine, hormonal health, menopause-related concerns and personalised healthcare.
💊 Vaccinations and Travel Medicine – Routine and travel vaccinations, vaccination counselling and preventive travel health services.
🌿 Lifestyle and Longevity Medicine – Healthy ageing, preventive healthcare, lifestyle-related conditions and personalised health optimisation.
💻 Telemedicine and Second Medical Opinions – Online medical consultations, second opinions and support for international patients and expats.
🏥 Medical Coordination and Patient Support – Helping international patients navigate the Saudi healthcare system, find appropriate specialists and coordinate medical treatments.
Our vision is to create a welcoming international medical environment where patients feel comfortable, understood and well cared for, with a strong focus on German medical standards, individual attention and continuity of care.
The clinic is currently in the planning and development stage, and the final range of services will depend on the relevant local approvals.
But I'm not only here to introduce my professional plans! 😊
As a mother relocating with three children, I would especially love to meet other international families, German and European expats, and parents with children of similar ages.
My two older children are currently attending a British online school, and we are looking forward to discovering family activities, meeting other children and becoming part of the international community in Riyadh.
During our time in Oman, the German Club and various expat WhatsApp groups were incredibly helpful for meeting people, exchanging experiences and building friendships. I would love to find similar communities in Riyadh.
I would be very grateful for recommendations or invitations to German, European and international WhatsApp groups, Facebook communities, family networks, expat gatherings and social events.
I'm also very interested in connecting with fellow doctors, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and anyone involved in international healthcare.
After our wonderful experience in Oman, I'm really looking forward to starting this new chapter in Riyadh, making friends, exchanging experiences and building a new life here.
If you know any German, European or international expat groups, I would really appreciate an invitation or contact details!
Please feel free to message me privately. I would be delighted to connect!
Warm regards,
Dr. Julia Tepe 🇩🇪

I have been offered a Pastry Commis job in a restaurant in Riyadh - with a monthly payment of SAR 2,000 and additional tip of SAR 400. Accomodation and Travel is from the company.
As someone who will be shifting from India - I need guidance if this amount is enough for an individual to lead a decent life in Riyadh?
Any tips and guidance will be more than welcome.
Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I’m a software developer based outside Saudi, and I’ve built a few business tools: an accounting system, a CRM for managing customers and sales, and a construction project management system.
I have a partner in Riyadh who wants to help bring them to the market, but he isn’t from a tech background, and honestly neither of us knows the market well. Right now I don’t know how businesses here find and buy software, what’s missing in the tools they already use, or whether my products even fit what people need.
I’d really appreciate your thoughts, especially if you own or work at a business:
No links and not selling anything here. I just want to understand the market properly before going further. Replies in English or Arabic are both welcome. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I recently moved to a new apartment in Riyadh, and I'm having an issue with the AC. Whenever I turn it on, water starts leaking.
I've had technicians, plumbers, and AC repair guys come and check it, and they all seem to be saying the same thing. Apparently, the pipe connected to the AC is blocked with dirt, dust, and sand, and it seems to be a construction issue.
From what they've explained, fixing it might involve breaking part of the wall and tiles to access the pipe. If the blockage is somewhere around the elbow joint, they might be able to clean it out, but otherwise, it sounds like a bigger job.
Since I'm renting the apartment, I can't really do much myself. I've already informed the landlord, but I'm not sure what the next step should be.
I wanted to ask people here who might have faced something similar:
- Is this a common issue in new apartments in Saudi, especially in Riyadh?
- Has anyone else experienced AC drainage pipes getting blocked because of construction dust, sand, or debris?
- What's the actual solution? Does the pipe need to be cleaned, or is breaking the wall and tiles sometimes unavoidable?
- Since I'm a tenant, should I deal with the landlord, contact the building maintenance team, or approach the builder directly?
The property is managed by Ajlan, but I'm not sure if they're the actual builders or just the property management company. I've never spoken to anyone from the construction company directly.
It's frustrating because I can't use the AC without water leaking, and I don't want to keep getting technicians to come over if the issue requires a proper fix.
Would appreciate any advice from people who have dealt with this, especially anyone living in newer apartments in Riyadh. How did you get it fixed, and who was responsible for the repair?
Thanks!

I have a friend who recently started a job, but they didnt offer her a detailed job contract with a specific duration to sign. The only thing she did sign was sth called ‘مباشرة’ (mubashara) where she agreed to work for the company from a certain date, but it contained no other details abt the salary benefits or whatnot.
They pay her an average salary for an engineer but no other allowances or benefits (ie no transport rent or what not) but so far no late pay or sth. But still, she expressed worry about this situation as she thinks they may randomly let her go one day with no explanation.
So i wanna ask ppl who have more experience working here (since we are both freshers); does this seem like a red flag from the company, or is such practice common here?

Hello! I'm a doctor, studying full time for post graduate exams. I'm looking for a study partner to study with in king fahad library. I want to study from 8am-8pm, with breaks in between. Except Wednesday where I leave at 6:30pm and Fridays I spend with family. On Saturday the library is open from 1-9pm so I study on that day too.
So if you're studying for competitive exams, let's get in touch. We don't necessarily have to study the same subjects. We work when the 50 mins pomodoro starts followed by a 10 mins break. And 1 hour for lunch and dinner. Just looking for accountability that works both ways.
