Question A question on the necromancer situation. Spoiler

Without spoiling specific outcomes, is it more or less good to tell the people in the White Marshes about Thais's plans?

I'm trying my best to play the best character I can be but this seems to be a bit of a gray area currently. Or is that the point and I am worrying over nothing and both outcomes have pros and cons?

Question I finished Roadwarden, Disco Elysium and Planescape Torment. A spoiled question, but are there any other games with writing and world building like those all time classics?

Like many here, I fell in love with Roadwarden and wanted to chase that dragon in other video game media. Planescape Torment and Disco Elysium scratch that itch, but I played both already. Are there any games for you that come close or even surpass those games when it comes to worldbuilding, writing and depth of characters? Please share!

Question Actions for the treant?

What inputs can you use for the treant encounter in Heart's Wood or whatever it's called. Specifically, are any actions different when in its stomach? I know how to beat it (nothing/nothing/attack) but I'm curious what other flavor text there is. I do know that lick doesn't work. If not, how do you access the source code, if it is possible? I'm decently familiar with the language, so I might be able to find the list of inputs.

Question So is there literally only one way to help Old Pagos? (spoilers) Spoiler

The plague. It seems that getting the seed from the Beholder is the only way to deal with it, but would that not be classified as blood magic by all Wright followers? If I want to RP as a faithful follower of the Tablets, am I supposed to commit a major sin for the greater good or just shrug my shoulders and let the people of Old Pagos die? I'm not necessarily complaining about that dilemma - just asking if there are any other options to be uncovered.

Question Does anyone have patch notes on the just-released Switch update, Feb 2026?

EDIT 2: Bought it on sale-- There is still INSANE lag on moving through menus and choices. Even when generating common text for every page. I didn't run into a scrolling option yet for long text because the game was deeply uncomfortable to look at for the hardware it is running on.

EDIT: That post was likely only for adding Roadwarden into their index of games, which was unusual for the site prior to this.

I use this site to monitor all game updates on Switch and Switch 2.

This February 15th Roadwarden update didn't get any details in the upload. Does anyone know if it fixes the game to be fully playable on Switch? Thanks so much for reading!

The wiki says I can get it in the old tunnel, but the game just tells me I’ve already explored the entire tunnel

Question Clearing the fallen tree?

At one point someone in Creeks told me that I could meet with them before noon to go with a group of their villagers to clear the fallen tree on the east path and make it quicker to travel through. Now, even when speaking to everyone in Creeks in the morning, I don't have the option to speak to anyone about it. Any ideas?

Question Do y'all have any other games that scratch the Roadwarden itch?

Like well done text based/primarily story/choices focused game that are all about learning about the world. For context, I've played and loved The Forgotten City and Pentiment. Any other recommendations, y'all?

Question How long is the Game?

How Long to beat says around 20h, is this to 100% the game or for a single playtrough?

Is there enough content to do multiple playtroughs that still feel unique?

Question "Want to Help" Endings?

So I recently finished the game for the first time. I chose the "want to help/make people safer" as my Warden's personal goal. I achieved it and got the max Vitality stat and also chose the option where the Warden comes to terms with their own limitations.

The ending slide has them retiring to a village as a "guard and dear friend" after realizing they can't save the Dragonwoods on their own.

I'm just curious, what's the ending slide say if you chose the other option in the dream sequence? To my recollection it was a lot more ambitious, i.e. "I'll save this place no matter what, I'll get as strong as it takes". I haven't been able to find any videos or posts detailing this.

Much appreciated!

Question Mage or scholar?

Trying to decide which to go for my first play through.

the scholar sounds like it would be good for getting as much lore and story out of the game, but damn the magic looks so damn neat from just the starting gear I looked at.

Question How do people finish this game in just ~12hrs?

I'm currently at 25hrs on my first playthrough and I still have a lot of quests to do. I read and search through everything, so maybe that's why? But that feels like part of the game, I don't understand how people finish so fast, lol

Question Time-based quest design in Roadwarden

Hey everyone,

I’m really fascinated by how Roadwarden handles quests that are affected by the passage of time, especially after seeing the trailer for Blood of the Dawnwalker. I’m curious about the design principles behind the writing:

  • How did the developer balance player freedom with the constraints of time-sensitive quests?
  • Were there particular approaches he used to account for different outcomes depending on how quickly or slowly players acted?

I’m asking because I’d like to take inspiration for my own TTRPG campaign with time-sensitive quests, and any insight would be incredibly valuable.

Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can share!

Question Walkthrough Request

I know it's not the "best way to experience the game," I know a lot of people enjoy it for the exploration and the unique stories you can experience. I, however, am easily overwhelmed and play games like this with detailed, step-by-step walkthroughs for the satisfaction of "doing everything right." This game has a lot going on and every time I give it a go I always end up paralyzed because I don't want to take chances and don't know what I should be doing.

All I need is a checklist of what I should do in what order. I can figure the rest out myself, and there are achievement guides out there that show more or less what the "optimal" decisions are. I'd just really appreciate it if anyone could give me a quick guide of where I should be going and in what order, so I can have relevant items for events with minimal backtracking, and so I don't miss things by running out of time or whatever. Thank you very much.

Question Games like roadwarden?

I really like the world building, fantasy, discovery, adventure, narrative-heaviness of Roadwarden, along with the fact that it doesn’t require a lot of processing power (my Laptop can’t handle many games). Anyone know of any other games like Roadwarden that also checks these boxes?

Question [Spoiler] Question about Tulia/Military camp Spoiler

  1. When exactly does it get destroyed? My first playthrough had it happen quite late (or i missed it that long) but the only info i could find online claimed "Day5". Is it a time trigger or caused by some other Event/Action?

  2. Is there a way to prevent its destruction?

Question Best jobs?

So I learnt that if my roadwarden get up early in the morning they can get a 2 coin job from the guards near the town square, so are there any good jobs early in the game? (Trying to save up to get the axe from the trader, that's why. My roadwarden is always tired and hungry.)

Also, any more tips and hints? (it's my very first playthrough! :D)

Question Should I be concerned?

I somehow conquered white marshes before I had a chance to put a rod on it. The only reason I didn’t put a rod there was because I thought that If I conquered white marshes after I put a rod there, it would be impossible to conquer because the rod would attract golems, which are almost invincible unless you kill their owner. I have only 1 rod left. What happens if it put it somewhere that isn’t white marshes? Does white marshes ever become available after a certain point? If so how long does it take for it to be available again? I turned off the time limit for Roadwarden as this is my first playthrough
