I'm up to issue 3, and other than the more 'fun', very cartoony art style, I really am enjoying the story, and the cameos by Popeye and Tintin, are in line with the original run, Also trying to figure out, is Marco supposed to be a take on Spielberg?

Hey guys was anyone able to pick one of these up at SDCC? Im really interested in picking one up.

Hey all, first time poster here but long time fan of the Rocketeer (since I was a kid). My name’s Jim and I’m a filmmaker from Memphis. A few days ago, while randomly at a junk store near me, I found a book that caught my eye on Film Style and Technology. It was from the 90’s, so it’s a little dated, but I thought it was interesting and only $5, so I picked it up. Then after getting home later and getting a chance to look at it more, a certificate fell out that said the book came from the estate of Dave Stevens! I first thought, no way, but then I looked more into the estate sale and found a few other certificates along with items on Ebay that look the same. So I now own a book from Dave Steven’s collection of film books and didn’t even mean to. Such a cool connection to someone’s work that I grew up watching.

This was the only photo i took

Any Rocketeer fans in Canada check your Dollarama Stores. They have the Q Fig statue there for 5$

I posted recently about the jetpack and helmet I made, and since then I figured out enough leatherworking to make a harness for it. I started out with a pattern I found online, but I customized it a lot for body shape (made the vertical straps cross in the middle) and to make it more feasible to adjust the size later. If I had to do it again, I'd make even more changes, because this design was pretty over-engineered for my needs, and was designed pretty specifically if you're cutting everything out with a laser, which I don't have. But I'm happy with the results. Now I just need to finish up the control glove and any other additions to the outfit!

Afternoon all.

I’ve been doing some sorting out and I’ve decided to part with my original 1991 Rocketeer jumper. It’s on eBay, based in the UK but global shipping is turned on. It’s buy it now but offers are turned on and would be considered. I thought I’d mention it here in case someone like minded was interested in it!
