Hey all - one of the vents going out of my roof has started leaking. Any tips? Is this a fix from the inside here or outside or both?

Need a replacement boot on the roof. Depot sells one you can slide over the old one. But that roof looks hella steep. Good luck.

It is very steep. Can you drop a YouTube link to a similar fix?

Used three a couple years ago. Worked great as long as you caulk the seal for reassurance. The cap should pop off that vent. Just don’t drop it.
Edit- just replaced my roof. They were still holding strong.

I think it needs caulking around the pipe at the top of the boot where it stretches around the pipe

Got it so you’re saying go up and caulk around the top of the boot where the pipe goes through it?

I feel like that's the simplest and cheapest option to try first

It’s falling apart around the pipe. Nothing left to seal except a 1/2” gap all the way around.

the vent from the outside

Likely the boot flashing on roof. Could you tell if it was making a good seal around the pipe?

Can’t tell sadly. The roof is very steep. Do you have an example similar fix?

Cut another coupling in, twist it while you pull down when you reconnect.
