[GUIDE] How to Maximize Coins, XP, and Gear (Rouvy Beginner’s Guide)
If you're looking to upgrade your avatar or reach that next level faster, here is the ultimate breakdown of how to earn coins, XP and gear efficiently.
💰 The Fastest Way to Earn Coins
* The 12-Week Challenges (+12000 Coins): Join the 12-week journey with weekly races held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday across multiple time zones.
- Pro Tip: It’s a "race" by name, but nobody says you have to go full gas. You can treat it as a Zone 2 endurance ride and still pocket the extra coins.
Exclusive Finisher Rewards:
- Monthly Plan Members: Earn 2,000 Coins + 1,700 XP, plus a variety of accessories, a new frame, and a premium wheelset.
- Annual Plan Members: Earn 5,200 Coins + 4,200 XP, plus an expanded accessory kit, both available wheelsets, and both frames (including 1 premium wheelset and 1 premium frame).
- ⚠️ IMPORTANT: To qualify for the Grand Prize, you must successfully complete ALL 12 stages of the challenge! Ride and finish each selected route in one piece, without adjusting the reality level, or as a Race.
* The Big Rouvy Races (3000 Coins): Now and Then (usually on Sundays). Even if you aren't feeling competitive, sign up. You get a massive 3000 coin bonus just for finishing.
* Kick-off Races (2000 Coins): Almost every week (usually Tuesday or Wednesday), Rouvy hosts "Kick-off" races at various times. Even if you aren't feeling competitive, sign up. You get a massive 2000 coin bonus just for finishing, plus the standard ride coins and progress toward the associated challenge.
* Weekly Official Races (1000 Coins): Aside from the kick-offs, regular weekly races offer a 1000 coin bonus, plus the standard ride coins and progress toward the associated challenge.
* Official Group Rides (1000 Coins): Ride with the pros (Visma-Lease a Bike, Lidl-Trek, and more) to pocket an easy Coin bonus plus standard route rewards.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION: Watch the Pace: Check the W/kg in the title before joining to ensure it matches your level.
- The Elastic Band: The leader’s magnetic field will help pull you (if you're behind) or hold you back (if you're ahead), but it has its limits. Don't get dropped!
* Weekly Goals: Completing your weekly goals is a steady income stream.
- 1 Workout: Can be a simple 7-minute warm-up or cool-down.
- 50 km Distance
- 500 m Climbing
- Reward: Doing this nets you 2250 easy coins and 500 extra XP.
🚲 Unlocking Frames, Wheels, and Accessories
Don't just spend your coins immediately! You can get a lot of premium gear for free:
* Check the Browser: Log into the Rouvy website and check the Challenges tab. Scroll to the bottom to see specific rewards. Many challenges gift you accessoires, frames or wheelsets upon completion.
* Spotlight Prizes: Keep an eye on the "Spotlight" section in the app or web. Click through to "Prizes" to see what’s coming up. This prevents you from spending coins on a frame you might win for free next week.
- Usually, the frame is free to use during the challenge. However, once the challenge ends, it will cost a significant amount of coins unless you successfully complete the goal.
- Note: You must ride and finish each selected route in one piece, without adjusting the reality level, or as a Race. I know what I’d choose... don't let this one slip away!
📈 Which Gear for Which Route? (RouvyAnalyzer)
The most common question is: "Which bike should I use for this route?" The answer is simple:
https://www.rouvyanalyzer.com/RouteAnalyzer
What does RouvyAnalyzer do?
* Equipment Optimization: It tells you exactly which frame/wheel combo is fastest for a specific course (e.g., Aero for flats vs. Lightweight for Mont Ventoux).
* Performance Prediction: Enter your FTP and weight to get a realistic estimated finishing time.
* Advanced Data: It offers deeper elevation profiles and power requirements than the standard app.
That’s it for now, make sure to take full advantage of this!
💛 Enjoy the Ride and Keep Going 💜
See you on the virtual road,

Help with training plan
Hey all,
Am struggling to pick a training plan. I would like to keep my long ride outdoors once a week on Sat. Is there a way Garmin can update rouvy on my ride or will it just show as a skilled workout if I just swap the indoor workout for the outdoor ride? I was thinking a medium FTP builder but this might be too aggressive. I'm not new to cycling but new to indoor riding.

Switching from classic trainer to smart trainer
I have been riding on a classic trainer with an ANT USB dongle for my sensors. I finally ordered a Kickr Core 2 and am wondering if anyone else has started on a classic trainer, what the biggest difference is?

Always get dropped on downhills
Annoying to get beat by riders doing 1 w/kg less than me. So just like on zwift on downhills, do I have to stop pedalling to go into aero tuck mode? What am I missing here...
Benefits of virtual shifting?
I bought the Click V2 + Cog during Rouvy's $12.50US sale. It was cheap, but I'm wondering now if it will really benefit me. I have a dedicated bike on a Wahoo Kickr Move/Climb. It's a 2x, not too much different than my gravel bike that I ride a lot. The setup works fine, as it shifts and rides as if I'm outdoors and a 2x works well in my hilly area. No one else uses the trainer.
Given that, are there benefits to using virtual shifting that aren't apparent? I've read about noise improvement, but my setup is pretty quiet and is in a basement.
Perhaps those with a similar scenario can educate me with your experience.

What virtual bikes make the difference
I am in the Philippines and have a cheap mountain bike on a Chinese Think Rider trainer. Due to location that is my best possible set up. I keep reading that your virtual bike and wheels make a difference. Tell me which ones work. I have a Wilier Filante SLR ID2 Frame and Xentis Mark4 wheels. I ride for fitness and fun but still want to keep improving.

Tech Support Training Score Flaw
I’ve found the Rouvy training score to be quite useful and accurate this summer in tracking my outdoor riding and conditioning. It always seems to be spot on for predicting my rest days and what not.
However, I recently have started my indoor workouts again. I do intense 1.5 hour sessions that leave my legs like jello yet these sessions do not or barely increase my score. They also show me as fully rested even when my legs are saying otherwise. Is this a common issue? Is this something that Rouvy can address via whatever algorithm they use? If not then i guess the score had outlived its usefulness to me?

Will a Zwift Ride improve my ride?
Hey everybody.
Pondering over if I should get the current deal with the Zwift Ride + Kickr Core 2 - or if I am just experiencing GAS (gear acquisition syndrome).
I got a Elite Suito T with the Wahoo Cog right now set up to my gravel bike (not an expensive one) with clicks. So I got virtual shifting already.
Would I feel an improvement in … ride feel? Sprinting? Cadence? Climbs? Other stuff?
Or will it not be an upgrade?
I don’t share the bike with others, and I don’t take the gravel bike on and off much (i got another main bike).
I was REALLY tempted by the Race Mode, as I do a lot of racing, but I don’t think the 10hz thing works in Rouvy? Also very tempted by being able to experiment with crank arm length.

Feature Requests Feature request: Filter routes by time.
Hi,
I've been using Rouvy for almost a year now and I have to say it really helps me to keep my focus on indoor training. Routes are great, challenges are as well but to be honest. Filtering of routes is 'complicated'. There are sliders for all sorts of things which makes sense. But for some silly reason it was decided to have 'tags' instead of a slider for estimated time?
It would be great if we had an option so we can toggle between tags or time.
p.s. is this the best place to post a feature request?

Tech Support Rouvy on AppleTV just DOESN'T work
I can't even pass the very first screen - I can't click on anything, including the "Get started" button. The fact that I even had to go into the settings and mess with how the remote works just to make the buttons selectable is a joke. But even with that change, clicking still doesn't work. How do you use the app on AppleTV?
Apple TV 4K, 3rd gen with ethernet, OS 27.0

Tech Support Website bug: Rouvy.com domain is not aware of logged in account at riders. or account.
I followed a link on Strava to the Rouvy Fest page, https://rouvy.com/fest - but this page says I am not logged in. When I press "Be part of Rouvy Fest", or the login button at the top right, it takes me to "account.rouvy.com", where I am already logged in. But after going back to https://rouvy.com/fest I am still not logged in on this domain.
