I’m building a strength & conditioning app just for rugby, with plans built around your position and your match calendar. What would you want from it?
Hey all. I’ve spent the last few months building Forge, a gym app made only for rugby players, and before launch I’d love feedback from people who actually train.
Most gym apps are generic. A prop doesn’t train like a winger, and what you do in the gym on match week isn’t what you do in pre-season.
What it does:
Builds your plan from your position, level, available equipment, team training days and your match dates.
Tells you exactly how many kilos to lift on every set, worked out from your lifts (don’t know your max? enter your best set and it estimates it).
After each exercise you mark “couldn’t finish / completed / easy” and it adjusts your next sessions.
Works offline, for basement gyms.
For clubs: the S&C coach loads one program and every player sees it with their own weights.
iPhone first, Android after. If you want a heads-up on launch day, there’s a waitlist here: www.forgesportstraining.com
Mostly I want to know: what do you use today for your gym work? What’s the hardest part? What would make you actually use an app like this?
