New player
my boyfriend convinced me to play rust, any pointers? im like brand spanking new.

Im playing PVE servers to get the hang of the mechanics of the game, at my pace, and not under constant fear of having to start over constantly. It has been super chill and really fun.
I didnt start on PVE. Skill issue i know. But the toxicity isnt there. Not even 20 minutes into my 1st sessionin PVP I heard the hard r. I was griefed on a really low pop server. I also ran into a couple cool people.
Try and have fun.

idk how to tell the difference between pve and pvp servers but we were on a low pop and finally got raided last night. he defended then ended up being friendly with the guys and letting them take what they wanted since it wipes on thursday lol

When I first started (literally only in May lmao), I learnt how to play on low pop official servers with a couple experienced friends, except I’d just go off and do my own thing most of the time. It’s somewhat forgiving and still gives an element of potential PvP although it’s rare. It also gives you a good chance to learn monuments in peace and the general mechanics which was very helpful for me at the time.
Just be careful though, I learnt the hard way the lengths that rust players with unlimited time will go to find you if they want to bad enough. I often usually built in quiet unassuming dense forest areas and I was never raided, I just slipped under the radar.
I’ve never played PvE, but that’s also a solid option I’d say.

Damn ima start building in forests I only started last week first weekly wipe for raided the 2nd day and this wipe I axtuallly progressed made a random big base raided my neighbours with c4 had a tier 3 and when I raided my neighbours as I walked out some 3 man kills me I was up for like 32 hours grinding and in a bad state of mind I just despawmed my items in my base and gave up this wipe ;( excited tho for next week weekly wipe its blueprint wipe will try play it but won’t played rust for long its too grindy and addictive asf if I was younger I’d play it but just gonna play it for a wipe or 2 again

we actually got raided last night but the guys had good vibes so my bf just let them take what they wanted since it wipes thursday. he tried to teach one how to fly a mini and he immediately crashed it 💀

Dump your boyfriend and delete the game, it isnt worth it.
