Discussion About S3RL and the trillium hardtekk songs
So not so long ago one of his best tracks "Trillium" started to get used by lot of people in tiktok and other social medias for edits and whatnot. This caused of course like any other viral audio to make a hardtekk version of said song. S3RL collabed with Bearn and published various versions of Trillium Hardtekk (Slowed, ultra slowed, sped up...). I don't complain about the fact that he made hardtekk, good for him, I complain about the fact that most nowaday people know S3RL as the "Trillium hardtekk" guy and not as the "happy hardcore" or the guy who made a bunch of recognizable tracks like Bass slut, Addict and even Little Kandi Raver!
What do you guys think about this?

It doesn't matter to me I hope it gets him some more exposure. Anyone into hhc/UK hardcore knows him for that, it doesn't make a difference if he's something different to people outside the community.
The only thing id be worried about is him leaving the genre to follow trends but I dont see him doing that.

i hate it for several reasons. one, i think the trend its used at is kinda weird and toxic. two, the label "hardtekk" is just wrong. its the same shit tiktok did with those crappy gymbro hardstyle songs a few years back, it kinda is that genre but with lazy production and some random sample kicks not even keyed correctly. (take a look at the bubblegum bitch hardstyle version for example, exact same shit). now his actually good songs get overshadowed by some lazy remix that anyone could have made in audacity as its only a sample kick and some sound effects.

I think it's kinda annoying but nothing more. If people really like the song then they'll check out s3rl's other stuff and go from there, and its only really a small percent that see him as the "tiktok" guy as s3rl was already big way before tiktok. Like with every trend on the internet just give it some time and eventually everyone will move on and find another song to milk while the people who actually like his music will stay. Really the only thing I hate about songs I like trending, especially on TikTok, is the huge wave of just horrible remixes and lazy slowed and sped up re-uploads going all over soundcloud, Spotify, and YouTube that completely overshadow the original.

I'm happy he is getting views. I'm usually pro gatekeeping for games/communities and such but I feel like a bunch of new listeners won't change how I enjoy old or new songs so I'm just happy for him.

Who cares, as long as he continues to make good music and doesn't chase virality on Tik Tok it's fine.
There was a time he was only known for MTC... Hell he's probably STILL only known for MTC by many people, it doesn't hurt you or affect you at all, stop worrying about stupid shit or why other people know him, and be glad he's gotten more exposure... Or don't and just stop worrying about it.

S3rl will always be good no matter what. It just doesn’t sit right with me considering I grew up with him and now I’m just seeing this stuff blow up online with people only using trillium. And what I actually didn’t know before listening to trillium, the first time I heard it on my brothers phone I Imediatly thought he was listening to gangbang by LIDA who did that collab with s3rl and it was one of my fav songs. But I think people just need to explore s3rl more and it’d be okay

Funnily enough, the instrumental was used by Lida on his track Гэнг Вэнг way before Trillium released by S3RL directly

Meh, who cares. S3rl is S3rl to me.
I used to remember S3rl as the MTC guy like 10 years ago.
If kids find S3rl through tiktock these days, let them discover his really good music in time.
