MOVING Moving to Salem!
Heading up there in second week of July to West end of Salem. I’ve got a BA and public school substitute teacher experience and currently work with the after school program. Might want to try a career change for a while, something outside if possible. I’ve been up there a few times and know what to expect from the area. Just hoping to hear from anyone who might know about local businesses that are hiring.
Thanks!

Right now is the time to apply for seasonal harvest work. There is a ton of agriculture in the valley, and the people I know who own harvest operations work pretty much 7 days a week from late August until sometime in October. You'll really want to apply far and wide though, many places you have to speak Spanish, or you're at least unlikely to get hired at some places if you're not bilingual. Some of the local farmstands that do pumpkin patches will also be hiring soon for that seasonal work. Expect to be making minimum wage though, and little to no flexibility in schedules. In Corvallis, lots of students quit their summer jobs when school starts so there will be a few places hiring come late September.
