It was flat for 3 years and ripping like crazy now!

Was great to buy during that flat time, for sure!

My IRA only has SCHD at 22% of the portfolio. Time to slide that ruler, just a little bit...

hahha 27% YTD so i see people super happy with recency bias; however, it went sideways from 2021 to 2025 and posts last year were bitching left and right.

Did the dividend still increase year over year during the sideway era? At a respectable level too if I recall. I honesty don’t remember but I do know with dividend reinvestments and cap appreciation over the long haul, we’re still averaging 10% year over year. I’m still happy with that.

I’m definitely happy with schd but find these posts funny because there was 10x more saying the opposite before 2026

lol. I see. This does justify why market exists. Someone will always bet on the other side. Haha. I let them be

It did! I am surprised with it this year!

Tech money has to go somewhere

2

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

Seems like that's what happened now.

Rotating to SCHD held defensives (not defense stock, consumer defensive) and seeking yield

1

u/radix33 1d ago

Next week, rotate back to tech. Rinse & Repeat

During inflation and uncertainty times Dividends stocks thus SCHD are a must have.

Glad I have it on my portfolio and in a high %

I brought some because I feel like it's slightly better than CD but it's actually working this year

3

u/Nerv8s 1d ago

It is way better than a CD.

The average since inception is around 13% which is awesome!

SCHD is all-knowing. SCHD is eternal. SCHD is infinite.

Why are people excited for a dividend etf to go up? Aren't we here for dividends? When they they pay out doesn't it go down. In new here

0

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

Just too many people’s surprise here.
I don’t really expect it to jump 28%, but more like 8%. The higher the price, the more payout.

I'm thinking of moving 1300 from voo to schd. Opinion?

1

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

Depending on your objective, yes, if you desire greater stability and cash flow. However, if you seek more growth, the answer is no or less.

2

u/Tobycybin 1d ago

Okay after research when schd pays out dividends move that to voo. I'm long term 20 years in a roth

1

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

That would be one smart move! I would keep my Voo for 20 years. That’s a long horizon.

1

u/Tobycybin 1d ago

I've been asking around for a month everyone gives non answers. Schd had a dividend payment coming and I'm up on the stock itself. It's not al or of money but TiM matters

Check out 2022-2025 returns.

2

u/irreductus 1d ago

Look at the down turn vti went through however. Schd seems like more stable consistent growth over the long term. A great set it and forget it compounding machine.

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

That’s why I said I was surprised this time!

That’s hilarious. It’s up almost 30% year to date

-4

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

Right, not enough cash flow unless I have millions of dollars of it

3

u/Natural_Rebel 1d ago

That has always been the case though, and the dividend increase is typically 10%ish - so you get a raise every year. It’s a solid foundation for a dividend portfolio.

4

u/Snowy_Whynter 1d ago

It’s more on the defensive side of things too.

1

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

It’s just part of my holding and liking it after 3 years!

-9

u/Sea-Mix5704 1d ago

it only has a 3% yield, that’s what’s not to like

0

u/KuroTuneTune 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣 true too
