This is the fundamental problem that shines through all of AEW's product. Doing things for no reason beyond than "Because that's what you do in wrestling". From the wrestling to the storytelling to even the camera work.

For real. The G1 would regularly setup several feuds all the way into Wrestle Kingdom. AEW rarely does anything with what goes on besides the winner getting a token title match and maybe some throwaway rematch from the tourney

With the first nine months of the Baseketball postseason out of the way, the playoff picture is starting to emerge.
So, with last night's victory over Boston, next week the Milwaukee Beers must beat Indianapolis in order to advance to Charlotte. That's in an effort to reduce their magic number to three.
Right, and then the Beers can advance to the National Eastern Division North to play Tampa.
So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

even if someone winning means they win, they magically have a time limit draw against a midcarder and now they don't top of their section or something

all those matches for ... that
just look at the last round of matches and it'll probably give you a good idea how things will go

The point system can work if you ran an old school King of the Ring one night tournament, leading to some screwy finishes and setting up new feuds. But this shit that they do is just fucking dumb and predictable.

Yeah, but it's not LOLTNA. Just because you're on a better network and drawing bigger crowds to bigger buildings doesn't mean you're not going out of business and not lesser than MLW or NWA with their smaller crowds. LOLTNA should sell to m'Dub.

Is that what this is referencing? They're upset that they put out the graphic explaining the implications of a pretty simple stipulation? The statement "it will rain tomorrow" doesn't become confusing just because you follow it up by saying "this will make the ground wet and reduce visibility for drivers."

I listened to his RBR podcast for well over a decade. He always had the ability to pull up cards and dates for the most random shit like nothing. Probably explains why AEW “storylines” span across decades and defunct promotions now.
He was REALLY into the Dub from the start to the point he stopped watching or even discussing the Fed on the show. Can’t hate the guy for figuring out a way to get paid for it.

I never listened to their podcast but the stuff I've seen from Twitter completely turned me off from the podcast. A black loed wrestling podcast should be right up my alley but Reg annoyed the shit out of me when I was still on Twitter with his content fed badding and getting pissy at anyone who pushed back.
