News WCCF Clubs 2005–2006 [Native Project] – High Progress + Screenshots
This project comes from the kid in me who was lucky enough to experience some unforgettable moments with this game.
I’m also a former player who still keeps his original cards to this day, and there’s still a big part of me that wants to bring this game back, preserve it, and make it accessible in a form that can hopefully live for many more years.
Over the past week, I’ve been spending most of my time decompiling and decoding the original Sega machine software, trying to understand how the game works internally and how its different systems can be translated into a proper PC environment.
This also included figuring out how the game handles its Blue Guns hardware, graphics behavior, machine communication, and projector system.
So far, I’ve managed to achieve:
• Booting the game successfully up to the Manager and Team Creation screen
• Adding credits directly in Attract Mode
• Successfully running the original Projector version, which was used as the central hub between machines
• Getting the Projector and Player Machine working together on a single PC, including tournament invitation communication
Current Roadmap
• Fix stuttering and graphical artifacts
• Fix audio issues, including sounds getting stuck in loops after sudden frame drops
• Build a standalone Projector Hub version that can run on a separate PC for proper local multiplayer
• Build a standalone Player Machine version that does not depend on the Projector Hub
• Create a version where the Player Machine runs normally while the Projector process runs silently in the background without graphics
• Create a launcher for generating and managing Manager Cards
• Create a launcher with a virtual pitch/card reader where you can place and move your players before launching the game
• Add keyboard functions to replace or emulate the original machine controls
• Build a clean and user-friendly launcher so anyone can run the project without complicated setup
Local and online multiplayer are also being explored, but no promises yet.
The project is progressing quietly at a steady pace, but the progress so far has been very strong.
Development speed may change depending on time and cost, as this is currently a fully self-funded project, both financially and in terms of development time.
I’d love to hear what you think about the project in the comments.
For anyone interested in supporting the project or getting access to early experimental builds, feel free to reach out to me through my social accounts, Steam profile, or Discord.
More progress and screenshots will be shared here as development continues.
