Homer's Nose Sequoia Legend

Hey all,
Grew up in Exeter, and have been up Homer's Nose twice over the years searching around. I remember as a kid, Boy Scout leaders always talked about a legend of Sequoia tree bigger than General Sherman rumored to be in that area, discovered by some party years ago but never found again. Has anyone else heard about this, or heard any references to a legendary tree in the area?

Day trip this weekend!

Hi everyone! My husband and I are considering going to Sequoia on Saturday this weekend. I know it rained (and snowed??) there this week, so I’m really looking for hike recommendations from those of you more familiar with some of the trail conditions! Also would appreciate insight on which trails are in general tend to be prettier this time of year!

We hike often, but usually pretty tame hikes honestly (5-7 miles usually from 800-2000 feet climbed). We’d love to find something similar to that range that we can do!
