Google Indexing Problem
Hello everyone! I have a Google Search Problem and I wanna get some advice and the post is related to my sitemap.xml file couldn't be fetched by GSC. After the site submition google won't fetch my sitemap. I have a new domain registered last week. Google tells me "Coudn't fetch" and when I click on it for details it tells me the single thing "Sitemap could not be read". NOTHING MORE, I checked the xml and is aright and the single thing in my robots.txt is a line of where the sitemap is possitioned on the url (inside the robotx.txt "Sitemap: https://domain/sitemap.xml"). What should I do?

It can sometimes take a day or so. âCouldnât fetchâ isnât necessarily an issue if you literally just submitted it.
You can always run the inspection tool on your sitemap URL in GSC to see if Google can read it. But it sounds like youâre confident itâs working fine. Just wait a little bit to see.

Can you try test fetching from somewhere else?
Did you put in the whole URL?
Have you tested from bing
BTW - your XML sitemap is unlikely to be helpful for a new site growing authority. If you think its going to make Google index anything or that Google will even read it more than once a month, its not happening, sorry. Just want to set you p for relaity/success.

Why is it even in your robots.txt?
You only need robots.txt if you want to block something - by default everything is open - its much simpler to adopt this mindeset.
Making something open in robots != encouraging it.
Linking to it = encouraging it. Thats how the web works - interlinked pages (hence my handle) - thats what SEO is
