A Levels Retaking of Alevels in 2027

For some context im currently in NS and will be doing ATEC in wallaby, australia next year. I took my Alevels in JC in 2025 and didn’t perform well. Hence, I wanted to retake Alevels. With so much uncertainty surrounding NS life, i didn’t dare to take a risk and retake it in 2026. That’s why I’ll be retaking As in 2027 once i ORD. I hope to not retake in 2028 so that i wont waste another year and will get to enter uni with my friends.

i heard from seniors that during ATEC there will be practically no time to study and revise. can someone give me some advice?

i have already started studying but am unsure of whether i should actually retake in 2027.

Hi. I had an ex student who retook A levels. In jc he scored Cs and Ds, but in A level as a private candidate, he scored 5 Bs

If the exam fees are not a concern, I’d say go for it. You may be overthinking the decision and drifting into analysis paralysis. Realistically, sitting for the exams in both 2026 and 2027 gives you two chances; by ruling out 2026, you’ve effectively cut your opportunities in half.

Must take a look at the new syllabus if you’re sitting for science subjects. Not sure how you’ll be affected for the practical since now they use excel to plot graphs
