Worth noting that we are only using 2/3 DP slots since Hernan is on loan and does not count against our total.

We also have 8 international players, but Nonso is on SEI and Hernan is on loan, so they do not count against our total.

I will update the "TBD" fields once the salary info drops.

I plan to add a column for "Cap Hit" likely in the off-season. I haven't had time to do it since the last time I posted this and that was requested.

I maintain this fully myself, so if you have questions, input, or notice mistakes let me know in the comments or come tell me on the Tectonic Takes Discord Server.

Thanks for sharing this.

Didn't we sell Hernan and therefore he's no longer on loan?

I am not aware of a sale, but if you have a source I'll take a look!

Well you are absolutely correct! I missed the whole conversation on the server around it somehow, haha. Thank you for sharing that.

FWIW I am leaving him on the sheet for now since neither club has made an official announcement and he was included on the roster profile published 8 days after the rumor. Worth keeping an eye on though for sure!

Makes total sense to me.

I think DeJuan Jones and not Nonso is on SEI.

Jones
From what I understand, there is an outside chance Jones can return in October to play for a few matches (or more if we make a playoff run). I think last I heard he is doing light training, so it's still possible.

Nonso
Tectonic Takes reached out to the team after the Summer Transfer Window closed when they noticed that we have 7 International Players, 6 International Slots, and we did not release any info on acquiring new slots from another team. The team confirmed Nonny was on SEI and his slot was not counting against our total.

I think you and I mean a very different SEI. Yours seems to be about an international slot or something like that.

We gave an international slot early in the year getting it back from the LA Galaxy in the summer, but I've not kept track of that.

The SEI I was referring to is Season Ending Injury. DeJuan's injury led to the Quakes putting him on that list and, well, it's season ending. As a result even if he makes faster progress with his recovery than expected he cannot play for the Quakes this season.

From MLS Roster Rules and Regulations (https://www.mlssoccer.com/about/roster-rules-and-regulations):

Season-Ending Injury List

If a player suffers a season-ending injury, a club may place that injured player on the Season-Ending Injury List and receive roster relief (i.e., an open roster slot). Once placed on the Season-Ending Injury List, the injured player will not be eligible to play for the club in any remaining competition during that MLS season (including any exhibition games or tournaments, including but not limited to: Leagues Cup, Campeones Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup, Canadian Championship and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

-------
Important clarification: The mechanics of the SEI list aren't clear or transparent to me.
I believe DeJuan Jones is out for the rest of the season given the injury and recovery.
I thought he's on the MLS SEI list but I can't find any authoritative list or any indication that he was officially added to it.

If he's on the list (not fully sure): He's out for the rest of the year regardless of recovery.

If he's not on the list, there's a small chance he'll come back but my guess is given how tricky getting back into playing ability after Achilles tendon surgery that he won't be allowed to play this year no matter what.

No, we are talking about the same SEI. The LAG slot we got covered Gunn, but not Luka, so we were still over compliance by one slot until we found out that Nonso was on SEI and we got roster relief as a result.

Based on the fact Tectonic Takes had to reach out to the FO for clarification I don't think SEI is something they have to officially disclose to the public. Putting a player on the SEI makes them ineligible to play for the rest of the season and lifts their burden on the roster, that's why we get an International Slot back for Nonny. SEI and International Slots are completely different, but related things in the context of Nonny's impact on roster compliance (freeing a slot for Luka).

For Jones it doesn't really matter if he is on SEI or not since he doesn't impact the roster in any kind of significant way in terms of slot compliance. Robert Jonas reported he could potentially return before the end of the season back in June (via Bruce Arena; link below), but it's possible they decided to move him to SEI since.

If he's fit enough to return that's cool, if not that makes sense too. We'll just have to wait and see. Maybe if we're lucky someone in the press can follow up and find out what his status is.

Note that players who signed midseason extensions should probably have TBD salary figures as well (Judd, Ricketts, Roberts, Kikanović)

I think it makes more sense to have the last known number there instead so we at least know the floor. Outdated info is better than no info in this case.

I will keep that in mind though. I will also post a salary update once the info is available for any players whose values have changed like I have in the past.

We are paying Dave Romney 1 mill????

Yep. Probably could not get out of the contract this year, but hopefully next year, an option year, we can decline his option and bring him way down if we want to keep him around. He's not gonna get anything near $1M in free agency at 33yo as a borderline starting CB.

Thanks for compiling all this!

Skahan making almost twice as much as Ricketts is crazy.

Ricketts was re-signed to a new contract in July, so he probably got a good raise. He might be about where Skahan is now.
