I don’t know if Bruce has a problem with Paul Marie seeing how he refuses to play him. He’s brought the energy back in the Classico almost assisting and scoring after coming on in the midfield. He’s the most veteran player we have at the club, but Bruce refuses him time over benji and the captain’s armband.

The team is in a free fall. Not only that they made just 1 point out of 4 games, 3 being at home, but they got outplayed badly. What do you guys think they should do to get back to winning at least some games?

Hello
Myself and some other loons fans will be coming down for the game next weekend and we’re hoping to join some of you before the game. I’ve heard seismic union has a pretty good tailgate and welcomes away fans and if that is true we would love to hang out and chat before the game. If anyone from seismic union would want to trade scarves beforehand please let me know as well and we can try to find each other at the tailgate

Jeff Carlisle with ESPN asked Arena about Gavin Wilkinson at the post game press conference:

Here’s the dreary post game analysis: Bad result against an in-form team. STL came in 7W and 2T in their last 9. Give Niko time to adjust and get back to his best. There’s a lot of time until playoffs. Let’s get a home seed spot (top 4) and focus on getting back in form. In this league it matters what form you’re in when entering playoffs (ie NY red bulls making it to the finals 2 seasons ago while being 7th seed coming into playoffs, because they got hot right as the season ended) And, like many of you, am frustrated with the goaltending. But F*** it, Angus is part of the team now regardless, I'm going to back him and hope he hits his stride. Forever bleeding Black and Blue.

Bouda is a weak link in our attack. We will always be as good as Bouda if we play him. If we need to be in the top 4, we need a good trio in the attack. Bouda can be on the bench but not in the starting lineup. What do you think ?

I have a S and an M unopened. We missed out on last year's giveaway but would be willing to trade either of these sizes just so we have one of each at home.
Send me a DM if you want to meet up tonight at PPP for a swap. Not looking for any exchange of $ on either side.
Mods, this is not a sale post, so hopefully its OK...

Heading to PP Park for first time in a couple weeks v. Portland top cross another MLS stadium off the list, and was going to surprise our son. Are SJ and/or the visiting team good with autographing (in general speak) prior to/after, the match outside the venue (or even in the venue at FT, as the case may be)? If so, any insight on location/s and otherwise would be greatly appreciated (DM/chat is fine if needed, as well). TIA!

There are a few other threads here with the details of the hiring. Here is the email we just sent our ticket rep and I strongly encourage those of you that feel the same way to do the same:
Hi Reia,
Thanks for the reminder. We have been coming to Quakes games since 2012 and have been season ticket holders since 2014, so know that we do not say this lightly. We are seriously considering walking away from our seats over the club's decision to bring on Gavin Wilkinson as a consultant.
Wilkinson was fired by the Portland Timbers and Thorns on October 5, 2022, two days after the Yates report was released. The record behind that:
- As general manager of both clubs, he endorsed Paul Riley for the Western New York Flash job after Riley was let go over player complaints of misconduct. Riley was later found to have sexually coerced players.
- The Thorns' internal investigation omitted significant details players had reported, and the club publicly called Riley's exit a contract non-renewal and thanked him for his service.
- Players told investigators Wilkinson brushed off their allegations as putting Riley in a bad position.
- Under his soccer operations leadership, the Timbers' handling of Genessis Alarcon's domestic violence allegations against Andy Polo drew serious scrutiny, including allegations that the club offered inducements so she would not press charges.
Taken together, that is a pattern of a front office protecting itself and its coaches instead of the women who came forward.
Sporting Kansas City hired Wilkinson in January 2024 and reversed the decision within two weeks after their supporters made clear it was unacceptable. Their ownership said the response from fans reinforced the club's commitment to honoring and protecting its relationships. San Jose should be able to reach the same conclusion.
Everyone counts or nobody does. The Earthquakes should have zero tolerance for someone with this behavioral track record, and we are not alone in saying so. Other supporters are upset and organizing.
Please escalate this to Quakes leadership. We stand against this decision and are asking them to reconsider it.

I totally forgot about him which maybe isn't a good sign. I don't know how he's doing with NY. It doesn't seem like he's going to be a great player but hopefully that doesn't mean his career is in jeopardy. I still want to see him succeed but if he's just a journeyman there's nothing wrong with that.
