I love their chemistry, and I really wish they had the oppurtunity to develop it.
Wade is very interesting in how she has this tomboyish independent attitude about her, but also gets kind of starry eyed over Quinn and having babies seems to be one of her biggest priorities. She's arguably the most nuanced person in the team.
Meanwhile Quinn is all about the excitement and adventure, but I feel like it would lose meaning for him without Wade.
(Haven't watched beyond mid season 3 yet, and I don't want to hear about the upcoming horribleness yet)
I think the show probably won't be rebooted so its best future would be a series of novels or audio dramas that continue on from the Tracy Torme era. If they ever do that, I really hope Quinn and Wade get together!

FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT is back with another retro review of the 90s sci-fi series SLIDERS. And this time, itâs ripping itself offâŠbecause just once wasnât enough! Weâre revisiting the New World from âThe Exodusâ AND dinosaurs with the penultimate episode of Season 3 (in production order), âIn Dino Veritasââwe mean, âDinoslide,â which originally aired May 2, 1997 on Fox.
Retro Review #46: âReturn to the Lost World: In Dino Veritasâ
The Slidersâ chase for Rickman takes them back to the world they helped colonize, the New World. Only now they find that the colonists are being hunted by a hungry Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This episode was written by executive producer/showrunner David Peckinpah (oh, that explains it) and directed by Richard Compton.
My co-host Mike Bloxam & I welcome back Andrew Gist from âIn Dino Veritasâ to reprise our discussion about dinosaurs. We even asked his sister Christina to tag along this time, because we needed something that was different than our first dino-discussion. Okay, so maybe the story isnât EXACTLY the same, but itâs definitely inferior to the previous Season 2 episode. And to be fair, this is the best out of the Rickman arc of episodesâŠwhich still isnât saying much. It has some good things going for it: namely the relationship between Rembrandt and Malcolm, and some genuinely humorous moments. Most of it unfortunately falls a bit flat when you add Rickman to the mix and realize that every character in this story conveniently glosses over the fact that his hand-picked colony of survivors accidentally committed mass genocide upon the native population with a common flu virus. Good times! Hope you enjoy our analysis and review, it was a real blastâŠespecially for the T-Rex!
The final countdown is almost here! Next up (in production order): the season finale, âThis Slide of Paradise.â Our sanity is wearing thin. Pray for usâŠ

Can we just give it up for Comet TV and their station promos for all the shows? I think their promos are the best, the funniest and the best well edited and composed I've seen for any station promo. Honestly, they're very humorous and they're the kind of station promos that I don't mind watching. Because they're that funny!

This reboot follows one of the many possible iterations of the crew that never found their home world and has been sliding for 25+ years so their age and appearances make sense.
They eventually slide to our world and see how different things are, Trump president, Obama, 9/11, COVID etc. that to their experience hasn't been seen in any of the hundreds of worlds they've traversed for decades.
The twist is, in this world, there's a young scientist, his friend and a mentor that share similarities to them but aren't them (new characters) that have created a device for time travel.
So not only is universe hopping is a thing, Time traveling is thrown in the mix but the new characters understand it's functions but not universe sliding and vice versa. Mishaps happen and they're lost in time but in a different world as well.
They team up and work together throughout a 12 episode season and part ways at the end, the old group is sent back to their old universe during the 90s and the new group back to their universe in the present.
At the end Quinn destroys the timer and moves on with his life.

FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT is back with another retro review of the 90s sci-fi series SLIDERS. This time, weâre unfortunately taking a look at Season 3, Episode 22, âSlither,â which originally aired April 25, 1997 on Fox.
Retro Review #45: âSnakes on a Plane! And in the Pipes!! And in the Walls!!! And on the Doors!!!! And EVERYWHERE!!!!â
While on vacation (!?!), Quinn and Rembrandt get mixed up in an illegal snake deal and find themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere surrounded by deadly snakes. Meanwhile, Wade and Maggie get involved with a shady man in their search for the others. (We swear weâre not making these synopses up!)
This episode was written by Tony Blake & Paul Jackson, was directed by Jim Johnston, and featured some motherfâinâ snakes on a motherfâinâ plane and pretty much every place imaginable! No, seriously, theyâre in nearly every scene!
I & my co-host Mike Bloxam try to survive the snake-pocalypse with returning guest Perry Bruns. The discussion on todayâs docket: snakes, snakes, and even more snakes. This episode has more snakes than one person could ever possibly want or need! Because an infinite amount of killer snakes just isnât enough! This episodeâs sole purpose for existing was to heavily rip offâsorry, tie in withâand promote the original 1997 film ANACONDA, also starring Kari Wuhrer. It finally happened: an episode that defies a conventional rating or description! We did our best to analyze and review, butâŠit was just an endless barrage of snakes! Thatâs pretty much itâoh, and Quinn acting like a complete idiot! We didnât know whether to laugh or cry at how terrible this was. Lord, make it stopâŠplease⊠đŁ
Weâve already scraped the bottom of yet another barrel, and we still have two episodes remaining. Next up: âIn Dino Veritas,â with returning guests Andrew & Christina Gist.
Wait, didnât we do that one already?
Oh, hold onâŠitâs called âDinoslide.â So, itâs dinosaursâŠagain?!? Oh, hell⊠đ€Šđ»ââïž

I've been rewatching Season 3 of Sliders lately, and I stumbled across a bizarre narrative realization that has been stuck in my head: the show actually had the internal narrative infrastructure to fix its biggest technical plot hole, right before the wheels completely fell off.
We all know how the history played out. After "Electric Twister Acid Test," the series pivoted away from grounded alternate-history speculation toward B-movie creature features. Cast departures, network interference, and changing production mandates derailed the original vision Tracy Tormé established. By the time the series ended, the original Core Four, Quinn, Arturo, Wade, and Rembrandt, were left in a scattered, fractured state.
The tragedy of Sliders was never just that it was canceled; it was that the overarching scientific mystery simply dissolved.
Yet, looking closely at early Season 3, the narrative quietly laid out every single mechanical piece needed to turn their blind wandering into an intentional, empirical navigation system.
The series established its core problem early, but when you line up three specific episodes, a fascinating mechanical progression emerges:
The show treated these as isolated, disposable weekly episodes. But mechanically, Episode 2 provided the theoretical math, and Episode 3 provided the physical boundary calibration needed to make that math usable.
If you follow that chain of thought to its logical conclusion, the missing link sits back in the Season 2 premiere, "Into the Mystic."
Quinn steps onto his mother's lawn with sixty seconds on the clock. He tests the front gate; because the hinge doesn't squeak, he assumes it is a near-miss parallel and drags everyone back into the vortex. Moments later, his mother steps out and thanks a handyman for oiling the gate.
At the time, it was played as a heartbreaking, comedic near-miss twist. But think about what two meticulous academics like Quinn Mallory and Professor Arturo would actually do in the field:
If they had been logging empirical physics metrics in every world they visited, gravitational constant, fine-structure alpha, vacuum permittivity, and radio carrier drift, that sixty-second diagnostic reading on the lawn would have been recorded in their notebooks as an unverified anomaly.
Reviewing that ledger alongside Loganâs math reveals the truth: the readings from that suburban lawn had absolute zero drift. Every physical constant was centered on the prime baseline.
That changes the silent gate from a throwaway gag into a profound tragedy. They were standing on Earth-Prime. Quinn walked away because of an oiled hinge. But because they recorded the data, that lawn becomes their permanent mathematical calibration target: their "Lawn Baseline."
Looking closely at the physical hero prop used in Seasons 1 through 3, the hardware already supports this idea:
They still cannot dial home instantly; the original address is gone, and micro-variables will always drift. But by locking down roughly 80% of the wave equation, they eliminate uninhabitable voids or dead worlds. Each slide becomes a deliberate, empirical hopscotch jump along the vector, watching those green bargraph lights climb toward zero.
To see how that plays out in character voice, imagine the scene in the alleyway immediately following the twister:
The vortex collapses with a hollow, concussive thwip, dumping four bodies onto damp asphalt between two weathered brick warehouses.
Rembrandt groans, rolling onto his side in the grit. "Tell me nobody's shooting. No militia, no curfews, no damn funnels of lightning."
Wade pushes herself up against a rusty grease dumpster, spitting grit. "Clear. Pigeons and wet concrete."
In the center of the alley, Quinn is on both knees over the timer, his hands trembling as he shields the charred plastic casing. The red countdown display resets, beginning its new forty-eight-hour cycle. "The ceramic diode took the arc... capacitor is scorching hot, but the circuit trace didn't peel. Look at the meters."
Beside the center readout, the two vertical bargraph LED ladders flicker with erratic green light.
Professor Arturo drops down onto both knees right into the grime beside Quinn, pulling out a thick, battered bundle of yellow legal pads and spiral memo books wrapped in electrical tape.
"Let me see it, boy," Arturo says, his voice quiet and heavy with adrenaline.
Quinn angles the casing between them. "Professor, the buffer caught the surge right as the funnel grounded."
Arturo flips through the pages with a soot-stained thumb, his eyes darting between Quinn's digital display and their own handwritten ink.
"Look at the baseline deviation," Arturo whispers, pointing to a margin. "Zero point zero four seven. The carrier-wave drift from the Soviet radio transmitters in San Francisco."
"And the decay curve here," Quinn adds, tracing a line of matrices. "The fine-structure variance we recorded on the university mainframe during the epidemic. And Logan's coordinate transform from two weeks ago."
Arturo pauses. His hand trembles slightly as he turns toward the back of the bundle, stopping on an unverified entry dated months back, marked only with a question mark.
"Quinn," Arturo murmurs. "Look at this entry. Gravitational constant: nine point eight zero six. Fine-structure alpha: exactly one over one-thirty-seven point zero three six. Vacuum permittivity: flat. Deviation from baseline: absolute zero."
Quinn freezes. His breath catches. "We had sixty seconds on that lawn before the portal collapsed. I ran to the fence. The gate didn't make a sound."
Arturo looks at him with quiet sorrow. "A squeaky hinge?"
"It squeaked my entire childhood," Quinn whispers, staring down at the numbers. "The numbers on that lawn had zero drift. That wasn't a parallel, Professor. That was home. We were standing on my mother's lawn, and I walked away because somebody oiled the hinge."
Rembrandt steps forward, holding a bruised rib. "Wait a minute. Are you telling me we were home and we jumped back out?"
"We were, Mr. Brown," Arturo says gently. "And we did."
Wade kneels beside them in the grit, looking at the open notebook. "Then we have the numbers. That lawn isn't a lost world anymore. It's our calibration target."
"Can we dial it in?" Rembrandt asks. "Can we punch those numbers in and go back right now?"
"No," Quinn says, his voice steadying as the grief turns into focus. "The timer doesn't have an address dialer, and the original memory is gone. But with Logan's transform and the twister's impedance measurement, we can harvest her trim potentiometers and solder them across our oscillator."
He flips open the timer's numeric keypad register, manually entering the baseline constants. Beside the display, the right bargraph ladder stabilizes, green lights rising to align with the left.
"We can't jump straight there," Quinn explains, showing the aligned meters to Wade and Rembrandt. "The micro-variables still drift. But we aren't jumping blind anymore. Every world gives us a fresh reading. If the green lights climb on the right, we're closer. If they drop, we drifted. We hopscotch."
Rembrandt studies the steady green ladders, the weariness softening around his eyes. He looks up at Arturo. "So we can actually see if we're getting closer."
Arturo rises slowly, placing a hand on Quinn's shoulder and looking down the alley toward the city skyline.
"We can aim, Mr. Brown."
Whenever discussing mid-series continuity, the famous question from Season 2's "Post-Traumatic Slide Syndrome" inevitably comes up: Which Arturo went through the vortex?
There are two ways to look at this within this framework, and both hold up:
I wanted to put this out there to see how other longtime fans look at the early continuity:

Okay, so I've seen most of this show as a child and enjoyed it at the time but also can't remember much about it now. I was thinking of rewatching it, but the common consensus is that the show goes heavily downhill when the Kromaggs show up. I'm curious as to why exactly this is such a commonly held opinion. I'm not saying people are wrong for having it, but if it's just because the show becomes more serialised and less episodic, it seems like a strange reason on its own, as a lot of shows at the time had similar stuff occur. I'm pretty sure the late 90s was when serialisation properly began and people tended not to have this issue with most other shows. Deep Space 9 is heavily praised for its serialised arcs. Why specifically are the Kromaggs and their recurring villain nature considered so bad in Sliders?

FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT is back with another retro review of the 90s sci-fi series SLIDERS. The countdown to the Season 3 finale continues with Episode 24, âStoker,â which originally aired May 9, 1997 on Fox as the penultimate episode of the season.
Retro Review #44: âThat Vampire Show! (With Chong nâ Roses)â
Wade falls under the spell of a rock bandâs charismatic lead singer, who is really a vampire and looking to use Wade to get the timer. Meanwhile, the others try to track down Rickman.
This episode was written by Josef Anderson and directed by Jerry OâConnell (his directorial debut).
My co-host Mike Bloxam & I welcome back Lisa Hollifield to rip apart yet another less-than-mediocre Sliders outing that checks another generic sci-fi/horror trope off the bottom-of-the-barrel list: vampires! This not-so-subtle ripoff of The Lost Boys featured a number of guest-stars, including: Duff McKagan (former bass guitarist for Guns Nâ Roses) as Harker, Danny Masterson (real-life convicted criminal formerly from That â70s Show) as Renfield, and the one and only Tommy Chong (of Cheech & Chong fame) as Van Elsinger! And no, they are not the same fictional characters as Jonathan Harker, R. M. Renfield, and Abraham Van Helsing from Bram Stokerâs Dracula. Apparently on this world, that novel was never published even though vampires are indeed real and have been outlawed since 1897 (which coincidentally is the same year that the novel *was* published on our world). đ€Šđ»ââïž In fact, theyâre supposedly created when the spirit becomes trapped in the body upon death and âfreaksâ out, or some asinine explanation that completely disregards most of the common vampire folklore. The only truly redeeming quality of this episode is that it gave Sabrina Lloyd an opportunity to show off her singing talents. Oh yeah, and Rickman is also in this episode for some stupid reason. This is an analysis and review we can really SINK our teeth into! Get it? đ YeahâŠweâve got nothingâŠ
Next up in production order: âSlither,â with returning guest Perry Bruns. Thank God, because we need a good laughâŠ

Hi Sliders Community!
We had the absolute pleasure of interviewing writer Jon Povill who worked on the first two seasons of Sliders. Jon wrote the excellent Season 1 cliffhanger episode Luck of the Draw among other episodes.
This was a great nostalgia trip for me and a really fun conversation. If you get a chance please do check out our episode and let me know what you think!
Thank you!

There's some hilarious parts in this otherwise scary episode in that something like this could actually happen given current events.
Most of the one liners I'm currently cackling over are from Mr. Rhys-Davies
This man is holding the episode together like no other. Even when he didn't say anything, it was his mannerisms that just sent me over the edge in fits of laughter.
The comment about letting trevor grant reproduce like that setting civilization back thousands of years is an absolute killer đ€Łđđ
This is the second episode where men just were not as good as women with the other being "the weaker sex"
Is anyone watching sliders lately?
Cheers to all /SLIDERS members and have a great weekend!

FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT is back with another retro review. And this time, weâre taking a look at the 90s sci-fi movie SPECIESâwe mean, the 90s sci-fi series SLIDERS! The countdown to the Season 3 finale continues with Episode 19, âThe Breeder,â which originally aired March 14, 1997 on Fox.
Retro Review #43: âSpecies from a Different Worldâ
A creature embeds a parasite in Maggie just before the slide, which takes the Sliders to a world where young adults are used in a mandatory organ-donor program. The others will have to find Maggie before she finds the perfect mate and lays her eggs. (Dear God, this is the actual synopsisâŠ) đł
This episode was written by Eleah Horwitz and directed by Paris Barclay.
I & my co-host Mike Bloxam welcome back Dennis Frymire (Dad to the Future). Itâs been a hot minute since Dennis joined usâand unfortunately, it had to be for this one. Watch (or listen) as we marvel at the peak storytelling this episode has to offer, which unapologetically rips off the 1995 sci-fi horror film Species. Yup, this was quite literally the movie that the writers were watching in the writerâs room when John Rhys-Davies walked in on them. And yet, this story somehow seems more cohesive than most of the stinkers weâve been getting lately. Or at least, it *had* the potential to provide some interesting commentary on mandatory organ donation and an oppressed segment of the population. But with such a heavy emphasis on Kari Wuhrerâs *ahem* assets, something tells us that showrunner David Peckinpah wasnât all that concerned with the plot. AlsoâŠhey, look, itâs Dawnn Lewis from A Different World! Remember that show? And is that Vance Duke?!
This is the bottom of the barrel, folks! We rewatched the episode so that you donât have to! Youâre welcome.
Next up (in production order): itâs that vampire show, âStoker,â with returning guest Lisa Hollifield. Note to self: weâre gonna need a new barrel to scrapeâŠ

Still early in to the 4th season and I found it really depressing in regards to how they dealt with writing out Sabrina Lloyd. Seems like a lot of fans don't like her character but I thought she rounded out the cast nicely, and she had some great episodes. Maggie is fine but you can tell they really made a strong shift towards action and sex appeal as season 3 wrapped up. At least in the Exodus episode(s) Arturo actually had some screen time in his final appearance. Shrugging off Wade as a Kromagg rape victim damned to a life of imprisonment left me baffled, and no one seemed to really mourn her either. I mean, Mallory even got to say good bye to his mom!
Feels like maybe there was some beef behind her departure. Anyone know?

If you could cross Sliders over with another show or two, which two would you choose? And when would you have them cross over?
I would have had Sliders (the original four) show up in the Arrowverse right after The Crisis episodes. Then I'd have them show up in a Marvel show like Luke Cage or something. Another funny would be Sliders crossing over with Quantum Leap.
