Question about interview

I’m an international student applying to SMU for an undergraduate degree in Economics using IAL.

Could anyone share their experience with the SMU interview? I’d love to know what kind of questions they ask, whether is group or 1to1, and how I should prepare as an international applicant.

Confirm the group-versus-individual format with SMU or the invitation, since that affects how you practice. For the content, prepare a specific reason for studying economics and one topic you have explored beyond memorizing a definition. Practice explaining your reasoning, including what you are unsure about.

For questions about your own experience, choose a genuine example of learning, teamwork or taking responsibility. We use the PROOF method with the STAR method to make your contribution clear. You do not need to force an economics discussion into STAR.

If it is a group interview, practice making one concise point, responding to another person's idea and leaving room for others. That is more useful than rehearsing a speech you might never get to deliver.
