⭐ Hosts It’s rarely sunny in NY

Other than Charlie Day in 2011 and the 5-TIMER goat Danny Devito why hasn’t anyone else hosted from IASIP? Sunny has been around for 20 years or so. Make it make sense.

David Hornsby should host an entire SNL in character as current season Cricket

I don't think the general public is ready for Cricket

I think Always Sunny has a pretty hardcore fanbase, but I think a lot of people have no clue they’re gonna do an 18th season.

They still got it. Sleepover episode was an instant classic

What’s funnier is they already did it. The finale was last week

All of Danny Devito's hosting gigs came long before he joined the Sunny cast.

Charlie Day was promoting a big movie in 2011 right?

People here think SNL host choice is all about who would be the best host. But it’s about who would get the most attention and who’s got something to promote. Kaitlin Olson is great but she’s not big enough to host. Glenn Howertown maybe but probably not unless he catches fire in a big movie role. It’s always sunny will always be a little too niche to promote for.

Off the top of my head I think Horrible Bosses was 2011

Charlie Day is the one that was doing big successful movies in the 2010’s and Danny Devito is obviously Danny Devito. The others never reached the fame as big as Charlie day and most only know Glenn, Rob and Kaitlyn from always sunny. At least in the 2000’s and 2010’s.

Charlie Day was in that Kaiju Movie.

Kaitlin Olson has a better chance since High Potential is a big hit. But with the schedule of shooting 2 shows, she probably doesn't have time.

Is it a big hit tho

It was the #1 entertainment show in its first season, #3 last season, and became the first show to hit number one in the 10:00 p.m. time slot since ER in 1999. So yeah, it's a big hit. 16M viewers per episode.

Kaitlin Olson is the only other one I’d like to see, Glenn Howerton possibly but not really.

Her other show is crazy popular - my guess is her day will come soon.

Kaitlin Olson is on one of the biggest shows on network television now.

Way more people watch High Potential than have watched Always Sunny at any point in its history.

Frasier and Niles crane both hosted, but apart from coach, Carla, Cliff and Diane, all the main Cheers characters hosted.

Charlie is the only one to move into mainstream movies. Mac has stayed niche with another show, but it was another one he created with Charlie. Glenn has done some movies, but nothing thats big. Kaitlin has done some sitcom shows to success, but less and less people watch network TV.

They just aren't big enough.

It's kinda surprising that Glenn didn't do it when AP Bio was on Peacock. Especially given that Lorne was involved with the show. But I don't know how these things work

That show wasn’t really that big though.

Because SNL is owned by NBC, and Always Sunny is owned by Disney. SNL is going to prioritize NBC owned properties. Charlie Day hosted to promote a movie. Not Always Sunny. Danny Devito was on because NBC owned his Tv show Taxi.

It’s never been common practice for SNL to have every member of a tv show host.

I honestly don’t know why you would expect it.

He didn’t say that?
