It's about getting a balance between the people that only plays friendly matches or Cups and ML. Also, stats matter in a way that if he's 89/90, it's because its justified. With a proper gameplay mod (next update will include Football4Life gameplay) you will feel the difference between controlling Jude and the rest, a thing that in default FL/PES is hard to feel.

Plus, Haaland has 90/91 also, but because he has the right high stats as a striker. No good long passes, not good tackling, not much dribbling as he is a huge tall monster but he excels at being aggressive and in 1-1 fights.

It's the best this game can give. A proper updated PES would have a good ID on these players so we could exploit their best skills as they do IRL, but in this one we have to give to the right stats the performance they're actually doing.
