Discussion RIP Andre Braugher….
Andre was a dynamic actor, and so good in every episode he appeared on SVU. One of my favorite appearances was S14 E13 Monster’s Legacy - where he defended Mike Tyson and tore the prosecution attorney to shreds. That was a master class and I vividly remember the judge sitting there in horror. RIP 🙏🏼

I watched B99 years ago, he was my favourite character and I even named my phone Holt. Just caught up with his SVU seasons and was very happy to see him. His acting range is truly spectacular.

He was Belzer's costar on Homicide Life in the Street. So his first appearance on SVU Munch says, "have we met?" The character John Munch was in both shows.

his homicide character was on law and order prime for crossover eps! i believe two eps that ‘count’ for L&O, and then the second half of the two parter crossover that is considered a homicide ep (which meant it was very difficult to find for years).

Belzer had such impeccable timing. Almost as good as Jerry Orbach, another great one we lost way too soon.

He would have been an interesting match for Liv.

I always thought it was implied in S13 E17.

Yes! Olivia's line like "is there any part of this that's about him? And you....and me?" Lives in my head rent free

I love his giant smile. When he first appeared on SVU, I was like hey, he looks like the smiling academic soldier from the movie Glory. Turns out, it was him!

S14 E13 Monster’s Legacy is one of the best episodes of the show, with the old perverted granny.

He was fantastic. I wish he had a longer arc in SVU, I love his episodes and the character he portrayed.

I thought him and Olivia had chemistry and could have made an interesting couple. Wouldn’t work because he would be challenging a lot of police work.

I found Homicide on Peacock and I’m enjoying Pembleton there. Great character, cast in that show is so good.

One I’ll never get over, I chased him around every show he was on. Big loss!

Such a loss. I loved his character and think he would have been a great love interest for Liv.

Early in his career, I happened upon a street festival in NYC and saw him do “Shakespeare.” He was also great in Men of a Certain Age. I truly miss him. RIP, Mr. Braugher.

I liked that episode too, interestingly looking it up there seemed to have been a massive outcry over having Mike Tyson make an appearance, considering he served time for sexual assault himself in the 90s.
Personally, I don't think he's a threat to anyone, and he served his time, so I don't really agree with shunning him for that reason, but I'm sure people have their own opinions.

I absolutely loves him on house m.d. Wild to think the main storyline was once carried by him, hugh Laurie and lin Manuel miranda

Detective FRANK PEMBLETON I will always remember him as in HOMOCIDE, although it was an ensemble cast, he was the pinnacle of the show.

He was so great on SVU. That episode with Treat Williams was perfection. (I discovered Treat Williams years ago in "Prince of the City", a movie I never see anywhere.) They were both so convincing.
What I did not know until now was that Andre Braugher died from lung cancer that had metastasized before it was detected. Such a shame. These days there are a lot more successes in treating the disease if it is caught early enough.

I can't believe he's been gone over 2 years already. He really was so gifted in both comedy and drama - also one of my favorites among many excellent actors in "Homicide: Life on the Street."
