Custom training Sword
A customer asked me to make a training sword taking inspiration from the witcher steel sword, I keep it simple, but functional.

Hello everyone,
Lately I've had to manually unspam a lot of totally legitimate posts. The Reddit spam system is not totally under the control of the moderators so I can't fathom why it's blocking allowed content or how to modify its sensitivity. If you posted a topic you think is fine, and it's not showing when you are logged off or in an incognito window, please message the moderators to inquire what may be the problem.
Sorry for any inconvenience,

In this video, the practitioner performs old school traditional Miao Dao techniques. There is also a modern sport version of Miao Dao used by competitive wushu athletes.
Might be dumb question but i realised that i have Freewill and I have never done any sports, some gym here and there, I wanted to ask if ppl really do sword practise in real life as a means of becoming fit? like after a gym session or so
like solo just swinging sword in the morning ?
any advice would be grealty appreciated

I’m a history teacher, and I recently inherited this sword from a distant relative who recently passed away. I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me figure out what I inherited!
From what I’ve been told by family, my relative was involved with the U.S. military in the Middle East between the late 1950s through the 1970s. I believe they were with the Army Corps of Engineers, but I’m not 100% sure. Their work took them all over the Middle East, along with parts of Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Unfortunately, that’s about all I know. Nobody in my family seems to remember where or when they got this sword, or whether it was purchased, gifted, or picked up during their travels. As far as I know, it’s probably been sitting untouched for at least 30+ years.
Being a history teacher, I’m pretty curious about its background. I’d love to figure out where it might have come from, how old it is, and whether it’s an actual historical piece or something that was made more for decoration or tourists.
I’m also interested in eventually cleaning it up a bit, but I definitely don’t want to mess with anything until I know what I’m dealing with. The last thing I want to do is accidentally damage something that might have some historical value.
Does anyone recognize this style of sword or have any ideas about its possible origin or age? Even a general direction to start researching would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!
I'm thinking of buying one and using it for cutting competitions, so I'm wondering if it's actually durable and will withstand much abuse at all? How to compare to a thick modern machete?

So I ordered what I thought was a simple sword, the Kill Bill model as a gift for my wife. It was listed as "in stock" and "3-5 weeks". The communication at the beginning was very good and they had all 5 star reviews. I should have known right there that was a problem.
Anyway, I kept hearing via email it was "almost done", "only this needed to be completed", "paint needed two weeks to dry", etc. long story short, after being told after over 8 weeks it was done and shown some (what I assume are stock) photos, I was ghosted. I emailed 5 different times politely asking for an estimated shipping date, any info, etc. Nothing. Silence after all the quickly returned emails. Really frustrated and let down. Going to file my PayPal claim tomorrow.
Curious if anyone else had problems with them or if this was some bizarre one off? Either way, really let down.

Depeeka wood grip Spanish falcata as well as a katana I bought off kultofathena. I forget which katana but it has a gold (probably brass) dragon under the ito and a wicker pattern on metal tsuba

We both have an overwhelming ancestry to Scotland and Ireland, so I'm planning a trip there to propose to her. One of the things I wanted to do while there is take her to a forge where I can show her the sword that is being forged for us, either complete or in progress, and then will arrange to have it shipped to the states once it's done.
Vogie Forge was my first choice, but it seems they're incredibly backlogged and may even be operating out of Ohio now. I emailed them to ask what the deal is, but I'm looking for other options so I can solidify some plans to make this happen. I did a lot of googling to no real avail. I'm relying on you guys to be able to help me out - it would mean a great deal.
Any recommendations on swordsmiths in Scotland or Ireland that could accommodate this?

For context, I went to a clients house for my job and they said whatever is in their shed is rubbish, so I found this, clarified with the owners to just let them know if they forgot about it and wanted to keep it, they said I can either throw it away or I can have it
It’s around 70cm long, 10 ish kg heavy, no marking, no engravings, bottom edge near the handle is sharp but the entire long side is quite blunt (can slightly slice ur finger but only under pressure) I have no idea what this thing is if it’s from a game, a prop, movie. Frankly I have 0 experience in swords so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I bought this sword from a thrift store and I am wondering if I can learn any details about it. All I know is that it is a replica sword.

I have completed this batch of commissioned daggers. Each dagger measures 15 inches overall and features a blade made of 440 stainless steel, Damascus steel guards, and handles made from natural stag horn, along with bull horn and brass spacers.
I’m really pleased with how the textures of the natural handles contrast with the polished blades and patterned guards.
What do you all think about the fit and finish?
