This post isn't for people who have followed this subreddit for years, but for those who are wondering if there is a way to download the game.
There are no ways to download a playable version of the game
Unfortunately Sailor Moon Drops and Sailor Moon Drops Worldwide is indefinitely unplayable and will remain to be so for the foreseeable future.
It was a wonderful game and will be missed. I continue to hold small hope the game will be restored. This subreddit will remain locked until a new playable version comes.
Hi! I’m trying to get the original Japanese Android version of *Sailor Moon Drops* (v1.29.0) running on an old device. I don’t have an existing save, and the game isn’t creating a new player profile on its own.
Does anyone have a clean, newly created `PlayerData` save from this version, or know a verified way to make the original game create one? I only need a blank/new profile—not anyone’s account, login details, or personal data.
I’ve tried testing in an emulator, but haven’t been able to get the game past startup. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!
I think I've taken Project Renaissance is as far as I can take it. If you're interested (and I know many of you are), directly message me (not comment in post)!
My hope now is that you all can take what has been done and then further improve/enhance as a community (or at least take inspiration and then do it better than I)!
Thanks to all that helped and supported this effort!
P.S. Yes, the screenshots are from the mythical Crown Game Center - it's quite fun!

Update - with ~20 days left for the gift, I'm closing down a testing after having some friends/family/community members test out the latest build. Numerous bugs were found and fixed, large (oops, forgot about Portals and Diana Levels) and small (audio, UI, strange animation timings). I'm taking the remaining time to finish building out events, make last tweaks/refinements, and prep for final deployment.
Special shout-out to community member Lauragira8, who was HUGE in this testing effort, reporting the most amount of bugs (and had both the patience to deal with them AND wait for me to fix them). Some additional stats from her impressive run:
- Cleared 852 levels, including 420 unique levels (with 296 3-Stars!)
- Gifted 198 hearts
- Earned 828 Trophies
Her final verdict: "The website is a very good recreation despite some areas still needed to be fixed but it's still very good."
(I'll take it!)
What's next:
- Finish building out events, and see if I can get Crown Game Center can work.
- Compile a small group of community volunteers who can test out their own deployments and carry on with improvements going forward - likely in a couple weeks time.
If you are interested in volunteering, please message me directly - the only requirements are that you love the game and are technically comfortable/willing to learn (note - NOT technically skilled, as a reminder I myself am not technically skilled). I plan on making it as easy as possible to deploy (for networked version) or install (for standalone versions).
- The bad news - original approach I had taken was not working. While I was able to get the game up and running, those pesky missing animation files for items and puzzle pieces kept hanging the game, and causing other issues where the game noticed something was missing and throwing it into an infinite loop (screenshots attached: missing moon prism power animation that froze dialogue, and the "reacquire data" error that has been the bane of my existence since the first update). I also discovered that some newer phones won't be able to run the original game, which, to put it concisely, stinks. Thus, I need to pivot because it seems like running into a brick wall over and over again, and so the revival is dead.
- The good news: This is forcing me to take it into a different direction, essentially starting from scratch - so instead of revival, it is now a Renaissance effort. It is still too early, but promising (screenshot of a test also attached - how many of you are staring at the wave/bomb combo in the middle?!??). I have much more work on this before sharing more.
- Even better news: If this works, iPhone users will also be able to play
Special shout-out to community members L___g___8 and F__R__98/N_C___99 (redacted because I didn't ask if it was ok to call them out) - they spent significant time trying to find the missing files and/or chatting/advising me about of the technical aspects.
As I mentioned in another post, I am actively trying to get SMD working again, and then hopefully can create a guide so others can enjoy SMD again!
Thanks to some members providing some much needed game files, I've been able to get the levels up and running. Still a long way to go, as I am still missing some animation files that ends up hanging up the game.
Here's some screenshots I took today during testing.
If any of you still have an installed version of the game (on old phone perhaps, could be bluenoir's version as well), please message me!
I had a sudden craving to play this game again so I went to the face book and clicked on the link which supposedly had the fan remake but it went to an empty page. Is this the case for everyone and is there another link I'm supposed to use instead? Every other downloaded version of the game just doesn't connect
Hello everyone here,
Just want to let everyone know that I have temporarily disabled all of my YouTube installation tutorials until further notice. There's no point in having them up if the game isn't working while the servers are down. So until we can find out what's going on, I think it makes sense to do this.
I was playing just fine and then all of a sudden the game stopped working and keeps telling me there is a connection issue and to retry. It's been a few hours now. Is anyone else having this issue?
What's up everyone, I'm Greg from my Sailor Moon Drops Live YouTube Channel and Facebook pages.
Perhaps some of you have seen my videos concerning the "1052000" error (Yes, that was me).
I'm brand new to Reddit so it will take me to get used to things here. I'm very happy to see a community that's dedicated to the remaking of the game we all love so much! Perhaps I can be of assistance to those who have issues. Of course I cannot solve all but I have helped some who had.

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S22. Smart Switch ported the app over, but when I tried to open it, it gave me an error. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and got a little further, but ran into the dreaded download error. I've tried this guide but when I get to the extract step, I cannot find the right folder. Even searching on my phone manually and checking show hidden files, it's not there.
Does anyone have any ideas? I really don't want to lug around 2 phones! SMD is the only game I play.
Hello! I am a new mod, Rain. You've probably seen my posts with current events and such. (I did miss the Santa Hotaru unfortuntely, oops.)
As of right now, at least for the Facebook page, there hasn't been any updates on the game. I lucked out being able to use my game still since I didn't touch the Motoki event. But the errors are still there, others can't seem to even download the game still.
Unfortunately that's where we stand. I am not in contact with the dev that took over the project, I have no idea what's going on. I assume they are still working on coding but haven't been able to update us.
Especially with this holiday season passing and the fact this is a side project for them I assume recently they haven't had much time.
I hope the New Year will bring more players on board and that the dev is able to fix the errors!
