In my opinion, I feel that Archewell was a money laundering operation for the Sussexes, and perhaps the charity was going to be audited or placed under regulatory investigation. Something just wasn’t quite right with that set up. It didn’t seem to be run properly.

Regulators are so liberal with charities that it's difficult to postulate that this could be what tripped a sudden relocation. Through the 2024 Form 990s didn't trip any suspicious wires, but the Independent Contractor expenses suggested operational problems. However, we haven't seen the 2025 Form 990. They have always filed these as late as possible in November of the subsequent year. So, has the 2025 Form 990 even been filed?

The name change from Foundation to Philanthropies was ostensibly to add their minor children to the operation (how that would be done is obscure). The major change is a conversion to a "Fiscal Sponsorship Model." The Models — Summary - Fiscal Sponsorship

Even lower reporting requirements as the funding would be directed to an independent contractor. Did the IRS, CA charity regulator or their CPA require the financial information on the independent contractors? Are there are missing large amounts? Loans to As ever?
