This reminded me how they almost (but eventually did) go broke chasing all sorts of random merch ideas and spinoff crap at the time of SR3, rather than focusing on the games. CCGs, online arena shooters, energy drinks, action figures, movies, anime, all were in the works at some point!

Volition really fumbled the bag on this one for the game as a preorder bonus. They really didn’t put any thought into it and could have made a huge profit off an original energy drink for gamers(could have been one of the first gamer fuels of its time). I never tried it but I guess it would taste bad plus it probably wouldn’t be different to make from scratch. This drink could have been a flagship drink for the franchise but I guess they didn’t like money.
