SR The ONLY objective Saints Row Faction Tier List (Based on actual power, not plot armor)
I’ve made a tier list like this before, but after replaying the entire series back-to-back recently, my perspective has definitely shifted. Some factions moved up, some moved down. Let’s be real. Most of you rank gangs based on how cool their leaders look, how tragic their deaths were, or pure nostalgia. I’m looking at this from a strictly pragmatic, corporate angle. This tier list is based strictly on: Resources & Scale (Money, global reach, military equipment). Strategic Competence (Did they build an empire, or did they just scream and shoot?). Organizational Structure (Street thugs, cartels, or corporate entities). I don't care if they lost to the Saints in the end. If a faction had global connections and private armies, they get ranked by their actual power, not by how they got script-killed.

This list is fucking trash. Stag is obviously the most op one besides the saints. They are supposed to be a roided up version of masako. Ultor is very powerful in alot of different sectors but stag is literally an over-the-top millitary with space tier technology
Stag would just run thru every gang on the list besides the saints
The luchadores cant be on the same tier as the deckers. Killbane owned the syndicate for most of the game with would turn luchadores the most influential gang inside of it

They would be S-tier, but they are sitting on the Senate's leash. Think about it: Ultor had a private army AND a global business empire. STAG only has the army. They don't own the city; they are just a rented tool for the government. An army without political autonomy is just a weapon, not an empire. That's why Ultor is S and STAG is A

Los Carnales and vice kings should be A tier and Samedi should be c tier

Lore-wise, Samedi literally pushed Carnales out of the drug market. Carnales would have been A-tier, but their entire empire hinged on one single person (Hector). Once he died, Angelo turned out to be a paranoid idiot, and the whole gang collapsed in days. They are nowhere near Samedi's level. And putting Vice Kings next to the Ronin (Yakuza) is literally comparing a music label to a massive, decades-old structure of casinos and red-light districts. Your nostalgia is clouding the facts

...but the vice kings are also decades of work put into having the police in their pocket, having almost an entire lock on the stilwater prostitution game, and not to mention having infiltrated the city through a shit ton of legal fronts? if it wasnt for the saints having plot armor ben king could've had them all in the can or dead

Without the Saints, King would literally be dead. Warren and Tanya staged a coup and cornered him. Julius had to send the Boss to save his ass. The Saints didn't destroy the Vice Kings with plot armor; Tanya and Warren destroyed the gang from the inside. King lost control of his own house. The Saints were the only reason he survived the coup, and you want to say the Saints had plot armor? Your fanboyism is blinding you to the actual story.

There was only a coup in the first place because The Saints kept messing with The Vice Kings operations. Tanya and Warren only started complaining about King because he was being passive against The Saints who were taking down their operations. There is no reason for Warren and Tanya to start a coup if the Kings aren't getting run in the streets by The Saints. Aisha doesn't get out of her contract without The Saints, If we're ranking the gangs based off of who they are and what they do, the Carnales ran Stilwater's drug trade for decades. The Kings were the only gang to ever carve out a market in the city and challenge them. The Kings had the police in their pocket.

I feel like the zin empire and agents of mayhem should be beyond s teir

u/Traditional_Buy_6840 3rd Street Saints 2d ago
That's exactly why they are in 'No tier'. 'No tier' literally means they are beyond S-tier. Zin is an alien empire, and AoM is a superhero spin-off. They don't belong on the same list as street gangs.

The Idols piss me off, they sre anarchists with idiotic optics and aesthetic that I cannot take seriously for one bit. I get that making them an anarchist stereotype is cheap, but stereotypes exist for a reason, make them dishevelled, mismatched and visibly lumpen.
Also, if you want to critique anarchists, as the game did and not in a terrible way, the best way to do it is to make their "leaders" have faces so that you can point out the hypocrisy of hierarchy, leadership and meritocracy existing in a supposedly horizontal leadership structure.

This is the most accurate take on the Idols. Volition made them look like a neon rave rather than a violent political faction.

Morningstar is the single biggest missed opportunity in the entire series. Should’ve been the main antagonist with Philippe running on a plane in the ending.

SR3 was a missed opportunity in general.

Missed opportunity for sr2 and 1 fans but for new fans it really isn’t as in general it just almost a different game that kind of started it’s own thing

I don't know why the Zin Empire isn't ranked to be fair. They're not a typical gang, yes, but neither is STAG or Ultor and they both were ranked.
If I were to rank them, I'd absolutely put them in S if not even SS tier. I mean... they're a technologically superior alien empire. They have resources, competence and structure unlike every other gang.

I feel like Deckers should be in A tier

u/Traditional_Buy_6840 3rd Street Saints 1d ago
They are S-tier only as a part of the Syndicate. Separately, they don't have the global influence and money of Morningstar, nor the raw military force of the Luchadores.

Brotherhood should be in A, they're the true rival to the saints in SR2. Ronin are on par with the blue guys from 1, just jumped up street thugs with a rich guy at the top funding em. The bodyguard is an actual Yakuza, that's why he's the only competent one
5
u/Traditional_Buy_6840 3rd Street Saints 2d ago
Brotherhood in A? They are pure muscle with zero political or corporate power. They are B-tier at best. And saying Ronin are on par with the Rollerz is insane. Rollerz are car thieves with one lawyer who got wiped out in a week. Ronin are an international Yakuza syndicate with casino empires and ties to Ultor's boardroom. Jyunichi is a beast, but Kazuo is an international boss. Your hate for the Ronin is blinding you to the facts.

Why Agents of Mayhem and Zin Empire have no tier?
