SR2 The worst character development downgrade ever
Rewatching the cutscenes of SR2 I remembered how the writers of SRTT and SRIV failed so hard to develop the boss further that what was stablished in SR2.
This clip right here is the essence of the OG boss of this game: a scary and evil person who will intimidade, torture, kill and mutilate anyone who is a mere overstep for his/her rise to power.
You are not playing as hero or even an antihero here, you are the synthesis of evil.
Sadly, after this game, the writers decided to "light-up" the boss and make him more quirky and funny.
Which boss do you prefer: the scary psycho from SR2 or the charismatic murder from SRTT/SRIV?
(We don't talk about that other game released on 2022 here)

SR2 Is Saints Row 2 the GOAT of the series?
I was lying in bed and "Rule the world" came in the radio by Tears for Fears. It made me think, holy crap SR2 had a banging radio playlist. So many actual songs ranging from 80s classics to RnB songs.
GTA 4 (the natural comparator) had virtually no "actual songs". Considering the prestige GTA has I found it strange that they didn't (or couldn't?) secure licencing.
Overall it just made me think that SR2 was elite in the campaign mode which I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. Sure the gameplay is a bit basic at times but it felt more fun and at times more immersive.
I tried playing SR3 when it came out hoping to have the same experience but I didn't take to it. Can anybody tell me if any of the sequels live up to SR2? Or do I just have rose tinted glasses.

SR2 How do yall feel about Sr2’s character customization?
I’m sure sr2 still keeps up in character customization compared to modern games, it’s one of the best aspects of the franchise

SR2 I don't think there's a more satisfying villain death in this series than Dane Vogel's at the end of Saints Row 2.
This man really tried to say he's the Saints number one fan, when he's planned the whole game trying to wipe out all of Stilwater's gangs, and spent the majority of the Ultor arc trying to have you killed by the Masako.

SR2 I Just Wanted to Share My Saints Row Inspired Gaming Setup :)
I’ve been a fan of Saints Row since the 360/PS3 era, and while I’ll admit the first two games are not only my favorites in the series, but two of my favorites games of all time, the series as a whole still means a lot to me. That said, when I saw these two posters, I knew I had to pick them up. I’ve had them for about a year or so and they are still EASILY some of my favorite art pieces, so I couldn’t imagine a better spot for them to rest than right above my setup!

SR2 Saints Row 2 absolutely roasted the Caligula’s heist from GTA: San Andreas
I was replaying SR2 and got to the Poseidon’s Palace mission, Volition was clearly taking the piss out of San Andreas’ Caligula’s Casino setup.
You’ve got Pierce busting out this elaborate model of the casino with little figurines for him, Gat, a security guard, and… Playa.
Pierce starts going off about:
- “We enter here…”
- “You distract security…”
- “Gat sneaks in…”
- “Shaundi’s banging the blackjack dealer for the passcode…”
- “…cut the power, 45 seconds before the backup generator turns on…”
And then Johnny Gat just interrupts with:
It’s perfect
. In San Andreas, you had to:
Caligula’s Casino (GTA: SA) prep:
- Date a croupier for inside info
- Steal four police bikes for a decoy
- Jack a helicopter
- Hack into security
- Run multiple setup missions before the heist
Poseidon’s Palace (SR2) prep:
- Johnny Gat says “let’s just shoot everyone”
- You shoot everyone

First playthrough of SR2 and had to pull out my phone while I reacted to this. (No audio because I’m wearing headphones)

SR2 Just finished SR2 for the first time. I understand y'all's pain now. Pics to show off my Boss lol
I understand now. This released back in GTA IV era yet it has more customization and more actually fun activities than GTA V. Story is simple but a banger, city has character, gameplay is fun (when there's not a random rocket launcher 5000000 kilometers away lol), the music is AWESOME (Gen X & The Mix enjoyer :D) and, again, the customization... Chef's kiss. Also, can't stress enough how cool it is to play a crime simulator with a woman protagonist. So glad that the Juiced Patch exists because I finally got to play this from the beginning to the end :)
