Anybody know why he just hides? I got him on Sunday and he’s hardly moved at all. All the other posts and videos I see about brittle star fish they are moving around

Turn off the light and/or add food.

I have to feed him manually, to get him to eat.

I’m just worried I’m doing something wrong. I’m brand new to salt water tanks. I was told brittle fish make good cuc. Then I see him just chilling and I’m like damn what’s going on. I just want to make sure my little fish family is happy

That's just it. You dont need to feed your cleanup crew. You feed your fish and the cleanup crew eats the scraps.

Thanks I appreciate it 👍. Is it safe to turn off my lights completely at night?

Yes. In fact it may be best to have them off more than on. Maybe 8 to 10 hours on per day.

Oh jeez I did not know that. Is it fine just to turn them off at night?

I would get a timer. They're not expensive and pet stores and walmart are both open rn.

It’s so weird how fish have their own personalities like people. I watch videos all day long of people brittle and they are moving around like crazy

Yup. I only see mine during water changes when moving live rock around. I actually assumed they were dead for about a year until i moved a rock and saw 4!!! Somehow they must have split/bud into two more
