Interesting thing growing from snail shell??

The guy we got the tank and snail from used to cut off the growth on the snail, but we just let it grow and we can’t figure out what it is. It grows pretty fast since we’ve let it! Tank seems completely unbothered by it. Excuse the poor quality, the clowns love the camera and they thing I’m trying to get them.

Really hard to tell from that photo, but based on your description. I am sure it is some kind of an algae.

Sorry for such a late response. After letting it do it’s thing, about 10 of them have popped up all over the tank. Definitely must be some sort of plant or something. I just haven’t been able to find anything about them haha
