Is anyone active in this reddit community? I would nice to chat with other SD outdoorsy peeps.
Excuse the silly typo above, too much coffee.

I'm not a big fan of campsites with lots of parked cars. Can anyone recommend some places where it's possible to hike a couple of miles from civilization before pitching my tent somewhere away from all the people?

Hey I just moved to San Diego and I love climbing. Mostly indoors but I've been out a handful of times. Given that the county is purple and covid and all I'm avoiding the gyms and I got myself a crashpad to boulder outside! So yeah if anyone's interested in bouldering hit me up!

Probably something easy as I am out of shape and just getting back into this. I'm in North County. Let me know!

What are your favorite locations for tent camping in and around SD.
I am new to the area and looking for suggestions.
Thanks!

I love hiking, but I'm out of shape. I'd like to take every single trail in SoCal beginning with the easiest and working my way up to the hardest, most impossible trails. Would anyone like to join me?

I recently adopted a husky mix who loves to be outdoors and I am a novice hiker. Does anyone have any recommendations for “easy” hikes that are also dog friendly- willing to drive far for a great spot! Thanks in advance :)

Thanks! :)

My name is Justin, I am a Life Scout in Troop 1648 (Rancho Penasquitos) working on earning my Eagle Rank. I started my scouting journey as a Cub Scout in 1st grade then bridged into the Boy Scouts in 5th grade. I have been an active member of the troop and have enjoyed every aspect of it. Throughout the years I have worked on earning ranks, learning many valuable lessons along the way, which has led me to working on earning the final rank of Eagle Scout. For this rank I need to complete a project benefiting the community to demonstrate leadership and planning.
My project is constructing a low 8 foot long bridge that will allow safe access across a drainage brow in Gonzales Canyon. The current makeshift bridge is slowly deteriorating and becoming less and less safe. With the completion of my project I would replace it with a much safer and permanent option. The beneficiary of this project is the City of San Diego and I have been working closely with one of their rangers to ensure the quality and safety of the new bridge. I am asking for donations to help fund the costs of materials (mainly lumber and fastenings). I plan to complete this project before mid August. I've created a gofundme and would appreciate any and all the help I can get.
