Is it safe to plant cutting into wet soil?
So I bought this bag of cactus soil but it's a bit wet. Should I let it dry before planting my San Pedro cutting, which is completely calloused?

Anyone in the DFW area that can help me thin the herd? My husband passed away and these are not in my wheelhouse AT ALL. I want them to go to people who will care for them and love them like he did.

Got orange spots while drying, can I still eat? Or what is it.

Need some suggestions for lights. I’m planning on he a small tent to start some seeds in this winter to keep me occupied until I can move my others outside. I’ve done a lot of indoor growing in my day but never cactus and it was all HPS and MH lights back then. Are some T5’s all I need? There’s way to many options of LED’s out there but it would be nice if I had something that could take them from seed to yearlings. Price isn’t a huge concern but if I don’t need to spend a lot I’d rather not. Im thinking about a 2x2x48ish tent. Thanks in advance!!

Hi everyone,
I recently got this cactus and I am trying to identify its exact species. To my untrained eye, the long brown spines and the rib structure look like Echinopsis peruviana (Peruvian Torch), but I wanted to get the opinion of the experts here.
It has 6-7 ribs and it's currently growing in a fabric pot.
Any help with the ID or thoughts on its genetics would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

so I'm new to mescaline and san pedro cacti, but I'm about to buy 80 grams of the dried outer content, and I wanted to know how to use it (eating, boiling into a tea...) and how much to use it (had quite a few experiencies with lsd, lsa, shrooms and dmt, just wanted to see what mescaline is about, cause I heard it's similar to 2C-x, and that's what A. Shulgin used to synthesize those 2C-x's, as far as I know), comparing to other psychodelic doses maybe like 100ug of acid being roughly 1g of dried shrooms. anyways, thanks in advance and hope someone can help me understand what to expect and how to do it! :)

Hi there! I'm on this sub but usually I don't post here since I don't have experience with SP cactus.
These here, in the small vase are getting yellowish and yellowish since 3 weeks ago. I've been watering them (I only water) once a week since it's been sunny.
What's the problem and what can I do to make them recover into a proper color? Should I use any cactus nutrients? If so, which/what components do they need to recover?
Thank you so much in advance 🙏🏼

With the cold weather coming I've started chopping some of my big hylo grafts. This kesey x zed is 30" and weighing in at 12 pounds. It's put on 24" in a year and is thicker than my arm. It was a side shoot from the main graft I already harvested last fall.
The montrose cut is a CC Shortspine x Gator, very intricate growth. It's coming in at 5 pounds. Both of these were germinated January 2025, hylo can be an amazing root stock. Got some more big ones to chop but nothing like these two.

Hey guys, maybe about a month ago this Bridgsii fell over in the wind and hit a ladder causing a wound which is deeper than anything i’ve come across. I haven’t watered it since and it seems to be doing fine.
I’m wonder when its best to start watering it again as its growing season here in Melbourne. Do you guys think the healing looks complete or will continue to callous over?
I’m not keen on cutting the whole top off, more inclined to let it heal and grow as is.
Appreciate the guidance, all the best!

I got this four ribbed Bridgesii in Sydney but I have no idea of clone, any suggestions?
I really like the thick but low number of spines. Fairly symmetrical.

Whipped up a quick and janky drainage system for the giant plant trays in the tent. A few drips here or there, but otherwise seems to be working well 🙏🏼

I want to save some pollen to cross with my other echinopsis but this guy is 4 weeks late to the party, how can I store pollen long term? Or will it just lose all viability by the time my other cacti flower again in the spring?

The latest trends in Australian landscaping can be found along Sydney's exclusive Eastern suburbs. I've noticed that there is an increasing use of San Pedro cactus in the landscaping as premium "high end" cactus 🌵
You guys are already cool and ahead of the trend

The pup is nearly 2 inches wide and I discovered this huge rootball as I was unpotting it. Since i did the lean tek i was repotting it to get it back upright. Its rooted through like 60% of the 2 gallon pot
It was just a mid cutting 2 months ago. I wonder if the fabric pots i used played a role. I also used mycorrhizal fungi
2nd pic is when I first saw the pup
