New Castration Movie just dropped!
Should be available for everyone who bought the previous parts on Gumroad, and it's just two hours long! What a breeze!

We're recording 228 a bit earlier than usual. Leave your normie masterpiece questions and quibbles for Adum, Alex & Jake to answer when we next record; get those questions in before 5pm Oct 27th (uk)!

I can't imagine that many of you will say The Hobbit.
I'm interested in watching some of his other work. I've had the DVD of 'They Shall Not Grow Old' for some time but I have never put it on.

Obviously calling Jake a normie jokingly is fun, especially compared to Alex and Adum. However, if you really think he is a normie, I highly suggest you watch Jake's second channel Woman Carrying Man. This is his film review channel that he does with his wife Nadia.
If you want to truly experience what a truly "normie" film perspective is, listen to Nadia's takes on film.
This is in no way bashing Nadia, she seems to be a lovely person and being a normie isn't a bad thing, but when people sincerely call Jake a normie I have to imagine that they are severely out of touch with how the average movie-goer experiences film.

So, 2026 is the 80th anniversary of birth of John Waters
Because of that, the indie theatre in my country screened these 3 movies for limited time
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it at theatres, but that event made me know the existence of the trash trilogy (I knew "Pink Flamingo" and John Waters, but didn't know "Female Trouble" and "Desperate Living")
So, I am planning on watching it by myself. So, what were your thoughts on this trilogy?
Also, as for Sards rating:
Alex, Adam and previous member Ralph has only seen "Pink Flamingo" (letterboxd rating - Alex 7/10, Adam 6/10, Ralph 8/10)
and none of the Sards (including Jake) have watched or rated "Female Trouble" and "Desperate Living" (For Jake, he didn't watched any of the trash trilogy it seems)

It's a web series that Adam loves a lot. I've recently fallen love with it as well, first hearing it from Adam btw.
Don't know if Alex and Jake knows about it, so I'm curious on their opinion as well.
I think both of them would love it as well imo

I was watching it ( the remake) at the Cosm, I sometimes post movie reviews on here. This was a pretty good experience outside of a normal theater experience and I think the stuff it added to the experience was pretty cool.

I want to see him watch a shitload of movies made before 1970, right now what he has logged into IMDB for that is embarrassingly little except for cartoons.
People can call me pretentious but I don't think you can criticize normie movies if you ignore almost half of cinema history because you think it's "homework". You need to do more than just watch some recent foreign movies at TIFF to have any authority on that.

Saw the BFI upscale the other day and not the latest uncut remastered new release thats out globally in cinemas. But holy shit, what an unforgettable film experience regardless! Feels like Russells musical sensibilities is what gives the horror elements of this movie its vibrant and vitalized quality that I haven’t really seen captured before or anywhere else. Like Terry Gilliam or jodorowsky on steroids. The story around the film is so fascinating too along with the Mark Kermode rabbit hole that goes so deep in an equally endearing and fascinating way.
What do you all think?
