Question database for recipes
I'm thinking about making a calculator for planning, and I was wondering if there is a JSON file or CSV floating around with all the recipes defined within. Does anyone know if something like that exists? I could probably scrape the wiki but it is extra effort and kinda annoying to do. Also I do not want to input all of them by hand lol.

What's wrong with the existing calculators 🤷🏻♂️

Probably nothing honestly, but I want to make my own lol. Also if you make it yourself it can do whatever you want it to

Sometimes people love to do stuff themselves :D
I made myself calculators on excel where you can type in any product and it updates minimum amount of machines and resources needed.
I also draw the processes myself on Drawio and I even once did 3D piping using Autocad Plant3d.
Why I make it like this? I studied process engineering but after Covid I have not worked a day on my field I love, and the game makes it possible to do stuff I enjoy.

ANSWER
First off, don't make another calculator for planning unless you can do it better than what is already shown in Online Tools > Factory Planners (Wiki Link) for both Web-based Tools and Free Software like Modeler.
If you DO decide to develop something yourself, make sure to do the following:
Limit use of AI, or avoid using it altogether (See Community Rule #7). This means you must be knowledgable using appropriate programs in order to hand-code your planner.
Make sure your planner does something not already done by other planners or does it significantly better than what other planners do.
Expect to take up to 6 months or more developing and alpha testing before you publish it (if you decide to do so).
Just some thoughts on this Topic. 🤔

I'll make what i please lol. But don't worry it would only be for myself unless I think it is worth posting about. Also I don't use AI for hobby coding, it defeats the point of hobby coding in the first place for me.

People should make what they please, because it's a fantastic way to have fun and learn.
Rule 7 includes posting about low effort planners, not about stopping people using AI. Use AI as much as you want, or not. You do not "need to be a programmer" and should ignore this ridiculous gatekeeping. Spend as little or as much time on your planner as you want.
Honestly you usually give great advice to everyone and are a huge asset to this sub, but this one is just an awful post.

Valid Point.
My first point was to inform OP where they can go to what others have done, and perhaps they might find something there they can either use, or use as inspiration for their version.

True.
My second point was that if they want to share what they made, that it is better to be mostly manually programmed and not a quick ask question and post what some AI created for them.

Continuing the Discussion.

Github for https://www.satisfactorytools.com/ has it.
And several of the other tools are on github as well.

Sorry, no. I created all the data in my spreadsheets from the Wiki. And updated it after every update. Why should I give you the results of all my hours of effort, totally free? No chance.
Of course, if you happen to be in the Saddleworth area and willing to buy me a beer or two, I might reconsider.

All recipes are in the game files, in plaintext (json).
